A RESOLUTION APPROVING SPECIAL USE PERMIT SP# 12 -02
FOR LANDMARK ARCHITECTURAL SIGNS, ON BEHALF OF ST. WILLIAM'S
CATHOLIC CHURCH, THE PROPERTY OWNER OF 6120 5TH STREET NE
WHEREAS, Section 214.07.01 of the Fridley City Cade allows electronic changeable signs in
residential districts, provided the requirements for Institutional Signs can be met, and then by a
special use permit; and
WHEREAS, on May 16, 2012, the Fridley Planning Commission held a public hearing to consider a
request by Landmark Architectural Signs, on behalf of St. William's Catholic Church, the property
owner of 6120 5'h Street NE in Fridley, on Lots 2 and 2A, Black 1, Church of St. William 1St
Addition, for a Special Use Permit SP# 12 -02 for an electronic changeable sign; and
WHEREAS, on June 11, 2012, the Fridley City Council approved the stipulations represented in
Exhibit A to this resolution as the conditions approved by the City Council on Special Use Permit
SP# 12 -02; and
WHEREAS, the petitioner, Landmark Architectural Signs, on behalf of the property owner, St.
William's Catholic Church, was presented with Exhibit A, the stipulations for SP# 12 -02, at the
June 11, 2012 City Council meeting;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that Special Use Permit SP# 12 -02 and stipulations
represented in Exhibit A are hereby adapted by the City Council of the City of Fridley.

SP# 12 -02 Special Use Permit for an Electronic Changeable Sign
St. William's Catholic Church, 6120 5t" Street NE, Fridley, MN
Stipulations
1. The petitioner shall obtain a sign permit and current sign erector license prior to installing any
signage on site.
2. Message on electronic message center sign shall not change more often than authorized under
Section 214.07 of the Fridley City Code.
3. Message on electronic message center sign shall never flash or have motion that may distract
vehicular traffic in the area.
