It was noted by this department that at your address, materials such as food containers, cans, bottles, paper or food wastes were being stored in plastic bags outside of a metal refuse container. Materials such as these, even though placed in a plastic bag, must also be stored in a covered metal garbage container (30 gallons or less in size). This is required by Section 1I3.02 of the Fridley City Code, Waste Disposal. Therefore, this department must require you to provide two, three or as many metal garbage cans as may be needed to store your gaxbage and refuse inside between pick-ups. When plastic bags are placed outside of a garbage can by themselves, they are prime targets fordogs, children, rodents and the eleanents. Onee the bags are torn or blown open, materials are free to blow about, creating a nuisance for adjoining property owners and the City. Materials once out of the hag attract insects, rats and other rodents and provice them with an excellent source of food. This provides for their greater propagation and makes their control impossi.ble. We ask for your cooperation i.n correcting this matter and complying with the City Code by storing your plastic bags in an approved covered metal garbage container. (Only grass clippings, leaves, and si.milar materials may be stored in plastic bags and be placed alonq side of the container.) If you have any questions concerning this matter, please call the Community Development Department at 560-3450, extension 41. SincereZy, ` %i 7 STEVEN J. Bourgeois: It was brought to the City's attention and confirmed by an on--site inspection on May 8, 1980 that the above listed property was being maintained in violation of Section 113 of the Fridley City Code, Rfuse Disposal. Said inspection found assorted garbaqe and refuse on the ground adjacent to the refuse storage area. In addition it was observed that there was an insufficient n►ber of 30 gallon, metal, garbage ca.ns, with covers, to store all garbage arid refuse inside between ekly collections. This is creating a cluttered appearance and a detractant to the neighborhood. Therefore, the City must requi.re you to dispose of in a sanitary manner, . e.g. a sanitaxy landfill, all of the refuse and debris found on this property. Finally, you will also be requi.red to provide and mainta.in approved metal, 30 gallon, garbage cans, with covers; weekly pick-up of all waste materials froan your residence; and prevent further accimtulations. A reinspection will be conducted on or about May 19, 1980 to determine compliance. We are confident in your cooperation and desire to make Fridl.ey a better comnunity to live within. If any questions or problems result froan this letter, please feel free to contact me at 571-3450. Dear Mr. Truehl The City of Fridley has established a City Code for the purpose of promoting a pleasant and attractive suburban environment. A recent inspection of the property at 7365-67 Able Street N. E. revealed that not all Code requirements are presently being met. Listed below is an item which does not comply with the City Code: 1. Fridley City Code requires that all vehicles must be currently licensed/street operable and kept on a hardsurface parking area if they are stored outside. I observed a vehicle (RDS5218)located on the property which does not fully meet these requirements. Your prompt attention in correcting this situation would greatly assist us in helping make Fridley a better place to live. An inspection will be conducted on or shortly after January 3, 1995 to determine compliance. If you have questions regarding this matter, please contact me at 572-3595.
