It was confirmed by an on-site inspection on July 5, 198u that you were
maintaining a blue, 1g66 Datsun pick-up, with expired Minnesota license
�ILMA 076, on the above listed property in a junked� street inoperable
condition.
Chapter 123 of the Fridley City Code requires that all vehicles in the City
be currently licensed and in a street operable condition. An alternattve is
to store said vehicles within a building or at ar. approved location, e.g. a
licensed junk yard.
Therefore, the City must require you to remove said vehicle from this
property or bring it into compliance With the City Codes by displaying
current registration and putting the vehicle in a street operable condition,
by placing it within the confines of a building or by removing it to an
approved location.

The Complainant, being duly sworn, makes complaint to the above-named Court and states that there is probable cause
to believe that the Defendent committed the following offense and that the following facts establish Probable Cause.
Your compiainant is employed as a health inspector by the City of Fridley and in that capacity
he did investigate the following offense, and did.determine as follows: That on July 5, 1984 at
approximately 2:25 p.m. Steve Olson inspected the property at 7440 Able Street N.E., in the City
of Fridley, such property being rt�aintained by �nald G. Sjurseth. Olson discovered on the above-
named property tw�o abandoned trailers w9th expired Minnesota Licenses of ZE 71-612 and Z53 441,
four snowmobiles without current licenses and two mini bikes. On May 21, 1984 Olson notified
Sjurseth by letter that maintaining junked vehicles was in violation of Chapter 123 of the Fridley
City Code. 4Jhen Sjurseth failed to reply to the first notice, Olson sent a second notice dated
June 13, 1984 a�h3ch Sjurseth also failed to comply to.

Dear Mr. Sjurseth:
The City of Fridley has established a City Code for the purpose of
promoting a pleasant and attractive suburban environment. A recent
insp�ction of the property at 7440 Able Street N.E. revealed that
not all Code requirements are presently being met. Listed below
are items which do not comply with the City Code:
1. Fridley City Code requires that all vehicles must be currently
licensed/street operable and kept on a hard surface parking
area if they are stored outside. I observed at least two
vehicles (NCN-597, PKX-535) which do not fully comply with
these requirements.
2. Discontinue outside storage of assorted materials located in
the driveway and adjacent to the garage.
3. Fridley City Code requires that all solid waste must be kept
in secured containers stored in the side yard, rear yard, or
garage. I observed unsecured solid waste near the driveway.
Your prompt attention in correcting this situation would greatly
assist us in helping make Fridley a better place to live. An
inspection will be conducted on or about June 22, 1992, to
determine compliance.

Yesterday I spoke with Mr. Sjurseth regarding citations which I
previously issued to him. Apparently, he pled guilty to the
offenses and the court gave him 30 days to bring the property into
full compliance with the Fridley City Code. An inspection
conducted late yesterday revealed that while some minor items
remain, the property is substantially in compliance with the
Fridley City Code.
Mr. Sjurseth informed me that he is expected to make another
appearance at the Columbia lieights Office of Anoka County Court on
September 23, 1993. Please dismiss the charges against Mr.
Sjurseth in this matter. �
