SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuinq permits for the erection
of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existi.ng building or structure,
or for any alteration or repairs to any exis ting building or structure, upon application
therefore, require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees to the amount
herein below set forth and in the manner herein provided to-wit:
NEW CONSTRUCTION: Single Family Homes and Garages: $4.00/1,000 cubic feet.
PLAN CHECK: 25 percent of building permi.t fee.
DRIVEWAY DEPRESSION: (Concrete Curb Streets Only)
Alternate A: Removal and replacement of concrete curb and
gutter only; Driveway width plus 6 feet x$11.75
Alternate B: Removal and replacement of concrete curb and

For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents of any
building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area covered from a
point si.x (6) inches below the floor line of the basement or th� cellar to the
average heights of the upper surface or to the average height of the roof surface
of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the rate
of $3.00 pier each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in the cost
of all proposed work.
In�no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be less
than $7.50 plus $.50 state surcharge.

estimates _ that 300 people draan in h�ne swimning pooys eac�i year, ge� �
scme typical accident patterns:
After a long walk on a hot day, 10 year-old Jimmy eagerly ran to the
backyard . fo� a swim in the pool. He fell on the smooth deck wfi�ic�i was
' slippe�y because there was scxne water on it. Jimmy's arm was broke�
in the fall.
Mr. Cai2 dived froan the side of his pool into four feet of water. He
hit the bottcan with his hands arid his head, �uffering laoerations and
bruises.
Nine-�earrold Susan always eriivied her neighbor's backyard sHr�aning pool.
One Sunday while they wer� gone, she cl.�mbed the five-foot wood�n fenoe
surrou�cling the pool. Susan couldn't s�evim very well, and she drowned
when sl�e got into the deep water.

Use nori-slip materials on the deck surrounding yaur pool and on t�e
diving boarc3s and ladders. (Be aware, haaever, that the use of these '
materials may cause water to o�llect on the deck and, if the d+eck is not
regularly cleaned, algae maY b�gin to 9r'�w•)�
—Avoid sudden c3rops in depth w%n builcling a pool. Indicate safe diving
areas with a different �lor on the pool bottzan. Paint n�rs on the
edge of the pool shaaing the water depth at vari.ous points .
Make all water pipes flush with the walls and bottan of the pool.
Have the electrical syst� installed by licensed electricians �d in ac:oo�inoe
with recognized st�ar�3ards for safety. •
R�ere should be sufficient lighting so that people can see at nic�it.
If the �l is to be used at night, there should � underwat�e= lighting.
Ladders should be equipped with handrai.ls on bath sides (the diameter of
the handrail should be small enough for a child's firn� grip)., and there
should be at least one ladder at eac�i erxl of the pool.

A large, weli designed, automatic surface skimmer
which employs the floating, hinged weir principal (as,found
in most in ground swimming poots).
This unit contains an automatic throttle controf so that suction
over the weir may be regulated. The vacuum attachment (designed for
use with either 1 y/a " or 1�/z " vacuum hose) plugs conveniently
into the face plate of the skimmer. For added protectian,

A mechanical permit was issued on March 5, 1998 for the property located at 5398
Altura Road NE for a new fumace and air conditioner. According to Section 305(a) of
the 1991 Uniform Mechanical Code a final inspection shall be perFormed on the
mechanical permit. As of this date no inspection has been called for.
You will be given thirty (30) days from receipt of this notice to respond. If we do not
hear from you, we will expire the permit and any inspections on this instaliation will
require a new permit.

The Chief Building Official shall, before issuing permits for the erection of any building or
structure, or for any addition to any existing building or structure, or for any alteration or repair
to any existing building or structure, upon application therefore, require the,payment by the
