Section 2, The Inspector of Build3ngs shall, before 3ssuing ang permit
for the ereotion of any building or structure, or for any addit3on to
any exist3n� building or structure, or for any alteratione or repairs
to any existing building or atructure, upon application therefor, reqtiire
the payment by the applicant for such perm3.t of fees to the amount herein
below set forth and in the manner herein grov3.ded to-wit�,
2.1. For any such permit for the erection of any f'�re-proof building� ather
then a garage, waxehouse, factor�r or grain elevator, or for the erection o�
any fixeproof addition, for s3.mi].ar occupanc�, to any existing building
aha11 be at the rate of �1./.�0 for each one thousand cubic feet� or fraction
thereof, in such cubic�7. contents.
2.2. For an�r such permit for the erection of ang fireproof garage, ware-
housp, factorg or grain e].enator, or for the srection of ax�y f3reproo'�
addition, for similar occupancy, to any exist3ng buildin� ahall be at the
rate of $1.25 for each one thousand cubic feet, cla.ssii'ied as "f3reproof°
b�r Section 502 of the M�nneapolis Buildiug Code.

2.3. For any such permit for the erect�ion of any non-fireproof building
other than a garage, warehouse, factor3r or grafn elevator, or e.riy non-
fireproof addition, for simi].ar occupancy, to any existing building.
Permit �7..00 for each one thousend cubic feet.
GARAGES
2.L�. For any such permit for the erect3on of anX non-fireproof �arage,
warehouse, faatory or grain elevator, or for the erection of any non-
f3seproof addition, for similes occupancy, to a.r�r exi.st3ng buildin� or
for each such building or addition. ATinet�r Cents for each one thousand
cubic feet or f'raction thereof, in the cub3cal contents thereof with a
minimum of �4.00. �
For the pt�rpose of computirig fees for bu3.lding permits the cub3cal contents
of any building or addition to a uniform height throughout by multiply3ng
the ground area covered from a point s�c.(6) inches below the f7.00r line of
the basement or cellar to the avera�e he3ght of the upper surface or io the
average height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
2.5. For repaiss or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be
at the rate of �3.00 for each Five Hundred Dollars (�500.00), or f`raction
thereof in the cost of all proposed work.
2.6. In no case sha11 the fee charged for any permit as set forth 3n
Section 2 be less than �/..00.
