Dear Mr. Villereal: It was brought to the City's attention and confirmed by an on-site inspection on May 2, 1979 that the above listed property was bei..ng maintained in violation of Section 113, Refuse Disposal, of tha Fridley City Code. Said inspec.tion found an o7.d couch, old bed frazae parts, refuse containers without the lids in place,. construction wastes, and a large pile of tree debris deposited on the qround about your property. Section 113 of the City Code requires that all refuse be stored inside an appraved container with the cover in place between collections. In addition, said containers must be emptied and the contents disposed o� at an approved sanitazy landfill at least once a week. Finally, all accululations of furniture, construction wastes, and tree wastes must be removed fran the property and disposed of at an approved sanitary landfi:ll. Therefore, the City must require you to bring your property into ccgnpliance with the above Code requirenents. A reinspection wil� be conducted on or about May 14, 1979 to determine compliance. BIIBJECT: Alex Sawicki/Citation Nos. 579-931, 579-932, 579-933 On November 6, 1992, I issued the ab�ove referenced_citations _ for_ multiple violations of the Fridley City Code at?6583 A�tliur_Street N.E. It is my understanding that Mr. Sawicki did not appear in court and that you are currently preparing a formal complaint on this matter. - On February 11, 1993, I received a telephone call from Mr. Sawicki's stepfather, Roger Baxter. Mr. Baxter indicated that his stepson was removed from the residence last fall due to mental health problems, and the property has subsequently been sold, although Anoka County's records still-show Mr. Sawicki as�the property owner. Mr. Baxter stated that his stepson's vehicles and outside storage of 3naterials were removed from the site at approximately the time of the sale. On February 12, 1993, I inspected this property and observed some violations of the Fridley City Code. However, the items observed outside the residence were different than those previously maintained on the property by Mr. Sawicki. They were declared a public nuisance for a number of reasons, such as: they can cause erosion, contaminate soil with oil and other vehicles fluids, and deposit soil and gravel in the City's storm sewers and detention ponds. When gravel driveways were declared a public nuisance, the City Council gave property owners five years to have their gravel driveways paved. The five-year deadline is quickly approaching, which means all gravel driveways within the City of Fridley must be paved with approved concrete or asphalt by December 31, 2002. If on December 31, 2002, your driveway hasn't been paved a citation will be issued and filed at the Anoka County Courthouse. A misdemeanor citation is a criminal offense and is punishable by up to 90 days in jail and/or a$700 fine. If you've already paved your driveways, Thank you!
