BUILDING PERMI.T FEE SCHEDULE
SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any altexation or r.epairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein provided to-wit:
U1�TIFORM BUILDING CODE: Type 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3& 5-$1.85 for
ea,ch one thousand cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the nubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floox line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average�
•height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing stx�u.cture, the fee shall be, at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged for any pexmit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for eonstruction wi.11 be issued a minimum of 24 hours fxom �Che
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Cextified Suxvey of Che lot, showing the location of the foundation, once it
ha� been constructed, will be required before proceeding with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a CerCificaCe of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days pxior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building permit has been
issued; and said stxucture shall not be used or occupied until a Certifica�e
of Occupancy has been issued.

Dear Mr. i Hrs. Kline:
This letter is to make clear this department's require.�ents for the snrimming pool
construction at the above address.
1. As indicated, one (1) skimmer approved by the National Sani tation Foundation
uill be provided.
2. As indicated, tWO (2} inlets of approved design for fresh and/or repurified
uater �rill be provided.
3• The filter and pump shall be approved by the N. S. F. and be of sufficient
capacity to provide a minimum turnover of at least two (2) times in 24 hours.
This department recommends a turnover rate of 6- 8 hours.
�. A deck of at least three (3) feet wide, measured from the pool watErs edge,
shall be provided which extends ca�pletely around all private residential pool�.
Above ground private residential pools may be provided xith decking of a minimua
size of 4 feet by 4 feet at pool entry points and provided that such decking has
the approval of the City. ,
5. Fencing or other effective means including but not limited to w alls or
buildings, acceptable to the City, sha11 be provided to positively control all
access to public and private residential swimming pools. Fencing shall meet the
following criteria:
(a) ,The fencing sha11 prevent the eatrance of childrer. and be xithout hand or
- foot holds that Would enable a person to climb over it.
(b) The fencing shall be at least 6 feet high and entrances aha11 be equipped
with self-closiag and self-latching gates capable of being locked.
(c) Self-closing and self-latching devices shall be placed at the top of the
gate or otherwise inaccessible to s�all children.
(d) The opening betWeen the bottom of the fence and tbe ground or other
surface sh all be not more than four inches. -

7. All electrical and plumbing installations shall be inspected and approved by
the City Inspection Departmettt.
8. All rnrerhead electrical lines must be a minimum of 10 feet horiz ontally from
the pool surPaee, and 18 feet straight 1 ine distance from the waters edge. An
alternative is to bury said lines.
9. The pool fill spout must be protected by a vacuum breaker or sir-gapped.
10. Suitable safety equipment to inelude but not limited to a ring buoy and rope
that is 1-1/2 times the pool diameter and ahepherds crook pole must be provided
and maintained with the pool at all times.
Furthermore, these sud ariy other requirements must meet the provisions of the
Fridley City Code, Seetion 115, S�imming Pools. The building permit is approved
contingent on final inspections and approval of the City.
