Re: Staimming Pool Construction at 7600 Bacon Drive N.E.
Dear Sirs:
This letter is to make clear this department's requirsnents for the swimming
pool construction at the above address.
1. As indicated, one (1) skimmer approved by the National Sanitation
Foundation will be provided.
2. As indicated, three (3) inlets of appmved design for fresh and/or
repurified water will be provided.
3, As indicated, a main drain o£ approved construction will be provided.
4. The filter and pymp shall be approved by the N.S.F. and be of
sufficient capacity to pmvide a minimum turnover of at least two (2)
ti.mes in 24 hours. This depar�ent recommends a turnover rate of
6-8 hours.
5. A deck of at least three (3) feet wide, measured from the pool waters
edge, shall be provided which extends completely around all private
residential pools. Above ground private residential pools may be
provided with decking of a minim� size of 4 feet by 4 feet at pool
entry points and provided that such decking has the appmval of the
City.
6. The diving area will be acceptable provided there is no overhead
obstruction.
7, Eencing or other effective means including but not limited to walls
or buildings, acceptable to the City, shall be provided to positively
control all access to public and private reside:�tial swimr.iing pools.
Pencing shall meet the following criteria:
(a) The fencing shall prevent the entrance of children and be without
hand or foot holds that would enable a person to cliunb over it.
(b) The fencing shall be at least 6 feet high and entrances shall be
equipped V7ith self-cYosing and self-latching gates capable of
being locked.
(�c) Self-closing atul sel€-latching devices shall be pl.aced at the tog.'

(d) The opening between the bottom of the fence and the ground or

9. All electrical and plumbing installations shall be inspected and
approved by the City Inspection Department.

surface. An alternative is to bury said lines.

SECTION 2. Tha Inspector of tluildings shall, before issuing pennits for the erection
of any building or structure, or for any addition to atty existing building or structure,
or for any alteration or repairs to any existing building or structure, upon application
therefore, require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees to the amount
herein below set forth and in the manner herein provided to-wit: �

For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contenis of any
building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area covered from a
point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement or th� cellar to the
average heights of the upper surface or to the average height of the roof surface
of the main 9able of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the rate
of $3.00 per each five hundred doZlars`($500.00) or £raction ttiereof in the cost
of all proposed work.
In�no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be less
than $7.50 plus $.50 state surcharge.

NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minfsntun o£ 24 hours from the time
of application to allow for proper review o£ the proposed structure and of the
construction site.
A Certificate of Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation once it
has been constructed will be required before proceeding with the framing.

Dear Sirs:
This letter is to make clear this department's requiranents £or the swimming
pool construction at the above address.
1. As indicated, one (1) skimmer approved by the National Sanitation
Foundation will be provided.
2. As indicated, three (3) inlets of appmved design for fresh and/or
repurified water will be provided.
3. As indicated, a main drain of approved construction will be provided.
4. The filter and pump shall be approved by the N.S.F. and be of
sufficient capacity to provide a mi.nimum turnover of at least two (2)
ti.mes in 24 hours. This department recoimnends a turnover rate of
6-8 hours.
5. A deck of at least three (3) feet wide, measured from the pool waters
edge, shall be provided which e�ctends cwapletely around all private
residential pools. Above ground private residential pools may be
provided with decking of a miniminn size of 4 feet by 4 feet at pool
entry points and provided that such decking has the appmval of the
City.
6. The diving area will be acceptable provided there is no overhead
obstruction.
7. Fencing or other effective means including but not limited to walls
or buildings, acceptable to the City, shall be pmvided to positively
control all access to public and private residential swimming pools.
Fencing shall meet the following criteria:
(a) The fencing shall prevent the entrance of children and be without
hand or foot holds that u;ould enable a person to climb over it.
(b) The fencing shall be at least 6 feet high and entrances shall be
equipped with self-closing and self-latching gates capable of '
being locked.
(�c) Self-closing and self-latchinq devices shall be placed at the top
of the gate or otherwise inaccessible to small children.
(d) The opening between the bottom of the fence and the ground or
other surface shall be not more than four inches.
8. An aut�atic chlorinatnr should be provided with a suitable test kit.

9. All electrical and plwnbing installations shall be inspected and
approved by the City Inspection Department.
10. All electrical lines must be greater than 15 feet away from the pool
surface. An alternative is to bury said lines.

BUILDING PER��IT FEt SCHEDULE
SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before is��ing permits for the erection
of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing building or structure,
or for any alteration or repairs to any existing buildinq or structure, upon application
therefore, require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees to the amount
herein below set forth and in the manner herein provided to-wit:
NEW CONSTRUCTION: Single Family Homes and Garages: $4.00/1,000 cubic feet..
PLAN CHECK: 25 percent of building permit fee.
DRFVEWAY DEPRESSION: (Concrete Curb.Streets Only) .
Alternate A: Removal and replacement o£ concrete curb and
gutter only; Driveway width plus 6 feet x$11.75
Alternate 8: Removal and replacement of concrete curb and
gutter and install a 3 foot wide approach with �p

Ebr the purpose of c�puting fees for building permits, the cubical contents of any
building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area covered from a
point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement or the cellar to the
average heights of the upper surface or to the average height of the roof surface
of the raain gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the rate
of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in the cost
of all proposed work.
Zn no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be less
than $7.50 plus $.50 state surcharge.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimwn of 24 hours from the time
of application to allow for proper review of the proposed structu,re and of the
constzvction site.
A Certificate of Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation once it
has been constructed will be required before proceeding with the framing.

Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days prior to the.
use or occupancy of any structure for which a building permit has been issued; and
said structure shall not be used or occupied until a Certificate of Occupancy has
