Dear Ms. Blanchard:
Weed control in the City of Fridley is administered by our Park
and Recreation Department. As property is identified, either
through City personnel or citizen complaints, we notify the pro-
perty owner and request he take action to eliminate the nuisance.
The owners are normally given 10 days to correct the problem
before the City reinspects and then, if necessary, schedules cor-
reGtion actions. If the City accomplishes the work, the owner is
then billed for this effort.
The problem along West Moore Lake Drive has been identified and
a work order initiated. The problem should be corrected within
the next 10 days.
Thank you for your interest and comments. We attempt to accom-
plish all of our assigned and expected tasks as they appear, but
it all takes a little time.

Dear Sir:
Upon receiving the attached notice in my door when I returned
from work, I immediately, without even removing my jacket,
called the number requesting them not to paint my curb. Well,
they did!
I can't believe you gave them permission to do this again.
They said you did. If something must be done for safety
reasons, you must think of an alternative. As usual, these
will deteriorate almost immediately, leaving a sloppy look
to the neighborhoods.
I did not pay, nor will I pay for it. I asked to have it re-
moved but they refused. As in the last instance, these people
aren't even from the area, but hired from out of state so you
can't even use the excuse that you are helping local kids go
through school.
Please do not do this again!!!!

REFLECTIVE HOUSE NUMBERS are being painted on the curbs in
�t of all the homes in Fridley. Large four inch numbers will
be stenciled on a white background with REFLECTIVE HIGHWAY BEADS.
These numbers will assist emergency vehicles, delivery vehicles
and guests to easily locate your home at night.
The City Council of Fridley has permitted this beneficial
service for the community. The painted numbers do not, however,
replace the required address on the building; but ALLOW A
SOLUTION TO THE FRUSTRATION OF FINDING A HOUSE NUMBER AT NIGHT.
We estimate the value of these numbers at �4.00; yet all
donations large or small are appreciated. Someone will be around
to collect for the service after the numbers are painted. Please
mail us a check if we miss you at home.
We are a small business comprised of students and young
adults who depend on this as our sole means of income.
