Couneilman Schneider called regarding a complaint he reeeived from 6315
Baker Street regarding a requirement for a screening fence betWeen the
eommercial property to the east of the residential strip along Baker
Stree t.
When this area xas platted, a 40 foot planting boulevard Was dedicated as a
space betxeen the commercial and residential properties. This strip is
under the eontrol of the City. We have traditionally allowed the adjoining
eommercial properties to maintain and be responsible Por the police and
maintenanee of this area.
�lithin our C-3 Zonittg Code, there is a requirement for a minimum 15 foot
wide screening strip to provide for a physical space between the commereial
district and residential. This is satisPied.
Currently, there is approximately 130 feet additional vaeant space between
the parking lot of the Maple Lanes Bawling Al1ey area and Chattticlear Pizza
Parlor. There has been activity to elear this portion for possible
development of the property. To date, no plans have been received for this
area.
With the �40 foot planting boulevard in place and the natural vegetation
within it, plus the extended space from the improved property, it would be
very difficult to require the commercial property to install a physical
barrier with a solid fenee aloag the property lines.

VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
