BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein provided to-wit:
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE: �pe 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. T� pe 3& 5-$1.85 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average�
height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof,
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dol.lars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, will be required before proceedin� with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days prior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building peztnit has been
issued; and said structure shall not be used or occupied until a Certificate
of Occupancy has been issued. •

Tk�is letter is in regard to damages done to �ny praperty at
6051 Be�jamir� Street North �ast in Fridley.
During the past two years, Dailey Hvmes has started arsd only
half fittislaed, as far as I'm concerned, a housing project around
my property. Before it was started there was a plan on wl�ere the
water around my property would drain but Dailey didn't abide by the
eriginal plaxi. Due to poor grarling by Dailey Homes, all the vrater
far t�ae past year has drained directly into my back yard. During
t�e rains of the Memorial Day weekend, there was no less than tw�
feet of standin� water covering my entire backyard and there is now
approximately one foot of out-wash dirt covering the lewer ,poition
mf my fence. If this dirt is not removed and the bottom of rny
fenc� exposed, it will saon rot away. Al�o, if the rains hadn't
quit whe� they did, I'm sure I would have Y�ad water in my basemen t
which could have caused dama�e ta my house. I feel that one year
is more tl�an a reasona.ble amount of time tes correct a mistake which
should never have been made in the first place. I feel that I�m
the recipient of water, dirt arid silt I shouldn't have to take and
was told I didM't have to take.
If the dirt is not removed soor� and the situatio� corrected,
I uvill assune that you have �e interition af correcting it. Should
this be the case� I will call in a landscaper to correct the dama�es
do�e to �y property and send tlte bill to the parties that are liable.
This unfortur�ate situation could have been avoided if Dail�y
Homes would have graded the Zander Addition according to the original

SUBJECT: LETTER FROM KEN KORIN
DATE: JUNE 28, 1978
I have reviewed the letter from Ken Korin, 6051 Benjamin Street Northeast,
dated June 15, 1978. It appears that Mr. Korin's complaint has to do with
grading property surrounding or adjacent to his property, and the subsequent
drainage of water onto his property. From reading his letter, it does not
appear that his letter consitutes a notice of claim. He appears to be asking
for relief from the drainage problem.
He apparently has spent no money up to this time. He appears to be putting
us on notice that money will be spent to correct the problem if something
else is not done.
I am not familiar with the circumstances surrounding the grading of the property
in the general area. It would appear that this is the basic problem. Perhaps
some attention should be given to reviewing the question he has raised, and to
alleviating the potential problem, if that is possible.

Councilman Barnette questioned how other rel' iou� holidays not covered in the
ordinance, would be handled for persons who o not celebrate the ones outlined.
Mr. Qureshi stated, basically, they woulc�adhere to what Council authorized by
the ordinance. .�'
Mr. Herrick, City Attorney, stated �jt'ates and cities have adopted certain legal
holidays and didn't thir,k the City ught to be in the forefront of resolving a
question of this nature. He sta d he doesn't recall this question coming up
as far as the City is concerned,
