building or structure, or for any, alteration or repaixs to any existing

the manner herein grovided to-wit:
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE: T�jpe l, 2& 4-$2.15 fo•r each one thousand cubic
feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents, Type 3& 5-$1085 fox
each one thousand cubic feet.
AllDITIONAL INFORD'IATION
Fox the purpose of computing fees for building permits,.the cubical contents
of an.y buildiug ox addition., is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered fxom a point six (6) inches Uelow the floor line of the basemen.t
ox the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average:<
height of the roof surface of the ma.in gable of a pitched roof.
For repaixs or alterations to an existing struct�re9 the fee sha11 be at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or traction thereof in
the cost of a11 proposed woxk. .
Tn no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00. .
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for constxuction wiZl be issued a min.imum of 24 hours from the
ti.m.e of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Certified Survey of the loi, showing the lacation of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, wi11 be requixed before proceeding_with the framing.
CERTIFICAT� OF OCCUPANCY
Applica�ion for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be ma.de ten (10) days prior
to the use or oceupanc}� of any structure for which a building permit has been
issued; and said structure shall not be used or occup3.ed until a Certificate
of Occupancy has been issued.

I received a copy of a memorandum regarding a letter you sent to Councilmember Schneider
in which you outlined your attempts to have your driveway repaved during the TCAAP
construetion project. I was not aware of your interest in repaving your driveway during the
upgrade of Benjamin Street. While I advised residents that replacement of their driveways
would be possible during the project, I only received requests from two residents.
This year we are proposing to incorporate in our street �improvement project a bid item for
driveway replacement. We anticipate the bids will be completed in the late May/June period.
Once the contracts have been awarded, we will be able ta identify the cost for this year's
driveway replacement.
I have placed your name and address on our interest list and will provide you the cost
information once this has been established. If you desire to replace qour driveway, you can
then contact us. We will provide you a definite estimate of the cost, you would then decide to
escrow funds with the City and we would represent you with the contractor to have the driveway
repaved. ,
I am sorry that we were not able to accomplish this for you last year. Hopefully, we will be able

Dear Ms. Reichow:
Permits were issued on September 20, 2000 and August 31, 2000 to install a fumace
and water heater at your address. According to the 1991 Uniform Mechanical Code
and Section 4715.2800 of the State Plumbing Code, a final inspection shall be
conducted on the work authorized by these permits. The final inspection conducted
on November 16, 2000 noted the following correction:
Size vent connector per GAMA tables.
The permit fee that was paid covers the inspection to make sure the work was
completed according to the Codes. We need to inspect the noted corredion before
we can final out the permit. To set up the inspection or to have any questions
answered, please contact the Building Inspection Division at (763) 572-3604.

Your letter regazding a final building inspection of my new furnace was forwarded to me here in
Arizona. I will be here wntil some time in May but will certainly call you when I return so you
can arrange for a final inspection. I'm a little puzzled, however, because it was my belief that
you had already given your final approval.
I realize tha.t there was a question regarding the size of the vent connector, and after making
several phone calls to both your office and to Minnegasco, I was assured that everything was
according to code. In any event, I will certainly ca11 when I return to Minnesota and we can
