Iam requesting this extension as there was a lengthly delay in originally
processing these permits and at the time I felt this would not create a
problem. However, there is now a�hortage of ready mix concrete and concrete
� blocks and many of the builders have been put on certain rations of these
materials. Therefore, it appears that an extension will be necessary.
I hope that you have had an opportunity to drive through Briardale. I am
personally very proud af the houses we have built here and I hope that you
feel they are a credi� to the community.

1972. Our inspection records indi.cate that the foo�ings were poured on or about
September 21, 1973. Since more than I20 days have elap�ed since any visable
constructian has occurred on the home, the City has no choic.e but to declare the
permit nu11 and void. Since this basement has been left open and consti�utes a
life hazard, you must fence the area off so tha.t the basement is inaccessibZe
to the public.
(6) Permit Numher 11,953: was issued.for I613 Briardale Road, the same beinq
Lot 6, Block 2, Briardale Addition. The permit was i.ssued on December 29, 1.972.
Our inspection records indicate that the footings were poured�on ar about August
13, 1973. Since more than 120 days have elapsed since any visible cons�ruc�ion
has occurred on the home, the City has no C�101.CE: bu� to dec�are the pe�mit nu].I
and void. The basement on this lot must also be €enced to prevent the probabilit�y
of an unsuspecting person from wal.king and fallinq into the basemen�.

BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
0
SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permi.t of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein provided to-wit:
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE: Type 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3& 5-$1.85 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the g�:ound area
covered from a point six (6) i.nches below the floor line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average �
�height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all p�oposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for eonstruction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, will be required before proceeding with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days prior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building permit has been
iesued; and said structure shall not be used or occupied until a Certificate
of Occupancy has been issued.

reference to the abovc subject properties.
I am requesting that the City of Fridley permit me to comple'.�: the
construction on the abave properties based on the fact that t�rey
were validly abtained in good faith and the fact tha�t I have commenced
construction at all properties. I fee1 that to charge me an additiona7
fee for building permits a5a1n on these s.ame properties wou7d be an
unfair and discriminatory practice and would not meet either the sp�rit
or the letier of the appllcable law. We have always tried ta cooperate
to the fullest with the Gfty of Fridley and I hope that you agree that

This letter is. to make clear this departments. requirements.�or the.sw�mming
pool construction at the abone address: �
1. As indicated, one (_1) sk.immer approved h.y the Nationa.l Sanitation
Foundation wi:ll be provided.
2. As indicated, two (2) inlets of approved design for fresh and/or
repurified water will be provided.
3. As indicated, a main drairi of approved construction will be prouided.
4. The filte,r and pump shall be app�.roved by th.e N. S.F. and be of
sufficient ca,pacity to provide a minimimn turnover of at least two (2)
times in 24 hours. This department recommends a turnover rate of
6- 8 hours.
5. A deck of at least three (3) feet wide, mea.sured from the pool waters
edge, shall be provided which extends completely around a11 private
residential pools. Ahove ground private residential pools may be
provided with.decking of a minimum size of 4 feet by 4 feet at pool
entry points and provided that such'decking has the approval of the
City.
6. The diving area wi11 be acceptable provided there is no overhead
obstruction.
7. . Fe�cirig or other effective means including but not limited to walls
or buildings, acceptable to the City, sha.11 be provided to positively
control all access to public and private residential swi�arning pools.
Fencing shall meet the.following criteria:
(a) The fencing shall prevent the entrance of children and be without
hand or foot holds that would enable a person to climb over it.
(b) The fencing shall be at least 6 feet high and en trances shall be
equipped with self-closing and self-latching gates capable of
being locked.
(c) Self-closing�and self-latching devices shall be placed at the top
of the gate or otherwise inaccessible to small children.
(d) The opening between the bottom of the fence and the ground or
other surface shall be not more than four inches.
8. An automatic chlorinator should be provided with a suitable test kit.
9. All electrical and plim►bing installations shall be inspected and
approved by the City Inspection Department. �
