BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings sha11, before issuing permits for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application Cherefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to.the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein provided to-wit:
tTNIEORM BUILDING CODE: 1j�pe 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
feet, or fraction thereof, i.n such cubical contents. Type 3& 5�$1.85 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For �Che purpose of camputing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average�
•height.of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth iti Section 2 be
less than $5.00.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, will be required before proceeding with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (IO) days prior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building pern�j.t has been
issued; and said structure shall not be used or occup3ed until a Certificate
of Occupancy has been issued.

SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the erection
of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing building or structure,
or for any alteration or repairs to any existing building or structure, upon application
therefore, require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees to the amount
herein below set forth and in the manner herein provided to-wit: `

For the purpose of computing fees for building permifis, the cubical contents of any
building or addition, is deterntined by multiplying the ground area covered from a
point six (6) inches below the fZoor line of the basement or•the cellar to the
average heights of the upper surface or to the average height of the roof surface
of the main gable of a pitched roof .
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the rate
of $3.00 �er each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in the cost
of all proposed work.
In�no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be less
than $7.50 pius $.50 state surcharge.
VERIFICATIO� OF FOUNDATIO(�
iVOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the ti.me
of application to allow for proper review of the pxoposed structure and of the
construction site. .
A Certi.ficate of Survey of the lot, showing the location of fihe foundation once it
has been constructed will be required before proceeding with the framing.
CtRTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (1G) days prior to the
use or occupancy of any structure for which a building permit has been issued; and

Dear Sirs:
This letter is to make clear this deparisnents requirements for the swimming
pool construction at the above address.
l. As indicated, one (1) skimmer approved by the National Sanitation
Foundation will be provided.
2. As indicated, two (2) inlets of approved design for fresh and/or
repu:eified water will be provided.
3. As indicated, a main drain of approved construction will be provided.
4. 'The filter and piunp shall be approved by the N.S.F. and be of
sufficient capacity to provide a minimum turnover of at least two (2)
. times in 24 hours. This department reco�nmends a turnover rate of
6-8 hours.
5. A deck of at least tMree (3) feet wide, measured from the pool water's
eclge, shall be provided which extends completely around all private
residential pools. Above ground private residential pools may be
provided with decking of a minimtun size of 4 feet by 4 feet at pool
entry points and provided that such decking has the approval of the
City .
6. The diving area will be acceptable provided there is no overhead
obstruction.
7. Fencing or other effective means including but not limi ted to wa11s
or buildings, acceptable to the City, shall be provided to positively
control all access to public and private residential swimming ,pools.
Fencing shall meet the following criteria:
(a) The fencing shall prevent the entrance of children and be without
hand or foot holds that would enable a person to climb over it.
(b) The fencing shall be at least 6 feet high and entrances shall be
equipped with self-closing and self-latching gates capable of
being locked.
(c) Self-closing and self-latching devices shall be placed at the top
of the gate or othenaise inaccessible to small children.
(d) The opening between the bottom of the fence and the ground or
other surface shall be not more than four inches.
8. An automatic chlorinator should be provided with a suitable test kit.

9. All electrical and plumbing installations shall be inspected and
approved by the City Inspection Departsnent.
10. All electrical lines must be 10-20 feet or more away from the pool
surface . �
11. The pool fill spout must be air gapped or protected by a vacuum
breaker.
12. Suitable safety equip�ent to include but not limited to a ring buoy
and rope that is l� times the pool diameter, and shepherds crook pole
must be provided and maintained with the pool at all times.
�'urthermore, these and any other requirements must meet the provisions of
the Fridley City Code, Section 115, Swimming Pools. The building permit
is approved contingent on final inspections and approval by the City.
