The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the erection of any building or strutcture, or for any addition to any existing building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to any existing building or structure, upon application theref�re, require the payment by the applicant for such�permit of fees to the amount herein belaw set forth and in the ma.nner herein provided to-wit: UIVIFORM BUILDING CODE: Z�pe 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubi:c feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. Type 3& 5-$1.85 for each one �housand cubic feet. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION For the purpose of camputing fees for building permits, the cubical contents of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average� height of the roof aurface of the main gable of a pitched roof. For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the rate of $3.00 per each five hundxed dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in the cost of a11 proposed work. _? - In no case shall the fee cfiarged for a.ny permit as set forth in Section 2 be less than $5.00. . .w - - _._ VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimum �f 24 hours fram the time of application, to allow for proper review of the propvsed structure and of the construction site. Dear Sirs: This letter is to make clear this de�Oartment's requirements for the swimming pool construction at the above address. 1. As indicat�d, two (2) skimmers approved by the PTational Sanitation Foundation will be provided. 2. As indicated, four (4) inlets of approved design for fresh and/or repurified water will be provided. 3. As indicated, a main drain of approved construction will be provided. 4. The filter and pump shall be approved by the N.S.F. and be of sufficient capacity to provide a minimum turnover of at least two (2) times in 24 hours. This d�partment recommends a turnover rate of 6- 8 hours. 5. A deck of at least three ( 3) fee�t wide, meastared f�om the pool waters edge, shall be provided which extends completely around all private residential pools. Above ground private residential pools may be provided with decking of a minimum size of 4 feet by 4 feet at pool en�try points and provided ithag such decking has the approval of the City. 6. The diving area will be acceptable provided there is no overhead obstruction. 7. Fencing or o�her effective means including but not 1?.mited to walls or buildings, acceptable to the City, shall be provided to positively control all access �o public and priva�e residential swimming pools. Fencing shall meet �the following criteria: � a. The g�ncing shall garevent iche entrance of children and be without hand or foo� holds that would enable a person to climb over it. b. The fencing shall be at least 6 feet high and entrances shall be equipped wi�h self-closing ar�d self-latching gates capable oi� being locked. c. Selg-closing and self-latching devices shall be placed at the top of the ga�e or otherwise inaccessible to small children. d. An automatic chlorinator should be provided with a su�table test kit. 9. Al1 electrical and plumbing installations shall be inspected and approved by the City Inspection Department. 10. All overhead electrical lines must be a minimum of 10 feet horizontally from the pool surface and 18 feet straight line distance from ths waters edge. An altemative is to bury said lines. 11. The pool fill spotit must be protected by a vacuum breaker or air-gapped. � 12. Suitable safety equipment to include but not limited to a ring buoy and rope that is 1 1/2 times the pool diameter, arad shepherds crook pole must be provided and maintained with the pool at ail times. Furthermore, these and any other requirements must meet the provisions of the Fridley City Code, Section 115, Swimming pools.
