A. PtJBLIC PIIRPOSE SERVED BY REQUIREMENT: Seetion 205.073, �B, il), requires a side yard adjoining living areas to be not less than 10 feet wide. Publie purpose served by this requirement is to maintain a minimum of 20 feet between living areas in adjacent structures and 15 feet between garages and living areas in adjacent structures to reduce exposure to conflagration of fire. It is also for aesthetically pleasing open areas around residential struetures. B. STATED HARDSHIP: "Dining room (8'4" x 10'�") is to small for 6 family members. Addition would add 2 feet making 10T4" x 10'�". Room expansion in any other direction is prohibited as the addition would block emergeney exit from bedroom below. C. ADMINISTRATIVE STAFF REVIEW: The two foot addition as shown by the survey map will encroaeh into the required 10 foot side yard. However, due to the orientation of the adjacent single family house, a 20 foot distanee appears to be maintained between structures.
