blocks and many of the builders have been put on certain rations of these
materials. Therefore, it appears that an extension will be necessary.
I hope that you have had an opportunity to drive through Briardale. I am
personally very proud Qf the houses we have built here and I hope that you
feel they are a credi� to the community.

indicates that no final inspection has been approved for this building. Our
inspection report #31,790 made on February 2, 1974 shows an inspection card was
posted stating, "Occupancy not permitted until inside railing on winding stai�way
approved, contact Inspection Department," We are putting one of the new plans
in our files and returning the second copy to you with notations on the stairway
that explain Code requirements. We are also returning the plan you first submitted
for this lot.
We also at this time are giving you written notice that building permit
numbers 11,950, 11,941, 11,947, 11,948, 11,943, 11,953, and 11,938 are now null
and void.
(1) Permit Number 11,950: was issued for 1608 Briardale Road, the same being
Lot 15, Block 3, Briardale Addi�ion. The permit was issued on December 29, 1972
and construction was held up by the City until January of 1973. To date nothing
has been done that would constitute the start of construction, thereby rendering
the permit void.
(2) Permit Number 11,941: was issued for 6181 Benjamin Street, the same being

and construction was held up by the City until January of 1973. To date however

and to date nothing has been done that would constitute the start of construction

1972. Our inspection records indicate that the footings were poured on or about
September 21, 1973. Since more than 120 days have elapsed since any visable
construction has occurred on the home, the City has no choice but to declare the
permit null and void. Since this basement has been left open and constitutes a
life hazard, you must fence the area off so that the basement is inaccessible
to the public,
(6) Permit Number 11,953: was issued for 1613 Briardale Road, the same being
Lot 6, Block 2, Briardale Addition. The permit was issued on December 29, 1972.
Our inspection records indicate that the footings were poured on or about August
13, 1973, Since more than 1.20 days have elapsed since any visible construction
has occurred on the home, the City has no choice but to declare the permit null
and void. The basement on this lot must also be fenced to prevent the probability
of an unsuspecting person from walking and falling into the basement.
(7) Permit Number 11,938: was issued for 1633 Briardale Road, the same being
Lot 8, Block 2, Briardale Addition. The permit was issued on December 29, 1972.
Our inspection records indicate that the footings were poured on or about
August 8, 1973. Since more than 120 days have elapsed since any visible progress
has been made on the home, the City has no choice but to declare the permit null
and void. The basement on this lot must also be fenced.

extension of the building permits I have previously secured w•!th
reference to the above subject properties.
I am requesting that the City of Fridley permit me to comple'�� the
construc�tion on the above properties based on the fact that tt�ey
were validly obtained in good faith and the fact that I have commenced
construction at all properties. I feel that to charge me an additionaT
fee for building permits again on these same properties would be an
unfair and discriminatory practice ar.d wauld not m2et either the spirit
or the letter of the applicab7e law. We have always tried to cooperate

This is in reference to the seven (7) uncompleted homes in Rich-
ard Miller's Briardale Addition.
Based on the fact that these seven (7) uneompleted homes have
been hooked up to the City's sewer system, and that the build-
ing permits for these homes were granted in December, 1972 and
the City has extended these permits with a state sur-charge fee
only, it is our opinion that the SAC charge is not applicable.
