A Pield inspection xas eonducted of the stucco at 7631 Brigadoon Place on
Tuesday, September 13, 1983• Others present at the time of the inspection
Were Mr. � Mrs. David Sampson, homeoxners; Mr. Clint Fladland, Executive
Director of Hinnesota Lathing � Platering Bureau; and Mr. Gene Rarpe� the
subcontractor that applied the stueco to the residence.
The result of the visual inspection conducted revealed several cracks in the
exterior surface; those on the north Wall of the garage shoxing evidence of
trapped moisture. Other areas appear to indicate no bond betWeen the final
coat and the base eoat.
In at least tvo areas xe removed a emall area of the dash coat and found the
base coat to be of very loose (very little bond betWeen the aggregate and
the bonding agent) and an apparent very loW eompressive strength. This
causes the dash eoat to be loose and easily removed from the base eoats.
Its very probable that this may be an extensive problem and involve very
large areas of the entire structure. In any event the stuceo is failing and
must be corrected and if the problem is the result of a poor and inadequate
base eoat� the entire stueco must be removed and replaced. ,
If you decide to bave the job inspected by independent labs or other
specialists, please have the results of same forirarded to us for our reviex.
Sinee �inter is soon upon us and the aeason for outside masonry xork is
about over, this matter needs your immediate attention.
