Dear Mr. Turek:
William Burns, City Manager, asked me to respond to your letter dated April 28, 1997,
inquiring as to whether the City would be interested in selling the three lots which are
located just west of your property on Buffalo Street. At this time, the City is r�ot in a
position to sell these Iots.
As you may be aware, the Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) has initiated a
program to acquire vacant lots and substandard homes in order to prepare the sites for
new home construction. The three lots combined constitute a buildable lot under our
ordinance. Although the City has not legally sold the lots to the HRA at this point in
time, this site would be an eligible site for a new house.
In addition, as a result of the recent threat of flooding, the City is beginning to evaluate
all of the land area that it owns in the Mississippi River flood plain. The City has not
completed an analysis as of yet in the Riverview Heights area, and the City would like
to complete an analysi� prior to selling any of the lots to adjacent owners or other
owners who may be interested in building.
In the alternative, however, I would suggest you call our Remodeling Advisor, Margaret
Metzdorf, at 572-3515. After driving by your house and property, you may be able to
construct a one to one and one-half car garage at the rear of your property. Ms.
MetzdorF inay be able to provide some other ideas for your home remodeling plans.

This is to let you know that sewer and water have been disconnected at the property line at 611
Buffalo Street on Apri12, 1998, per your request of March 27, 1998.
The standpipe was removed per your instructions and information that it is an unbuildable lot and
there would be no further need for it.
The water meter was removed on March 27th, and the final reading was given to Judy Melham in
Water Billing.
