With the redevelopnent of the 100 Ziain Drive-in property by Lake Pointe,
L'�a, the City in cooperation with the Minnesota Department of
Transportation and the Anoka County Highway Department will be improving
the iritersection of Hic�way 65 and Old Central this coming s�mimer. �e
intersection improveqnent will provide additional stacking space for
vehicles and smoot,her and safer turning movanents on the Highway as well as
access to and f ran Haclanann Avenue.
In order to provide for the stacking space ar�d turning mov�nents, Old
Central will be wideried and a median �onstructed. �is project will have
so�ne effect on the parking and acvess to vertain p�operties. In order to
explain this improvenent, I would 1 ike to irivite you to a meeting on
� sday, Fiebruary 11, 1987, at.7:00 p.m in the Civic Center, Community

City Code requires that all driv�aays be hard surfaced. ifipaved driveways cause
erosion, increase maintenance costs and traffic accidents plus are an
inconvenience to neighborhood residents. We are attempting to assist property
awners in Fridley who c�o not have p�ved driveways with the improvement of their
clriv�aays.
Northwest Asphalt, Inc. was the successful low bidder on the Fridley Street
Improvement Proj ect for 1987 . They have agreed to assist us with dr iveway
i�ravenents by offering to grade driveways and place 2" of Class V and 2 1/2" of
asphalt for $7.50 per square yard. We feel this is a very oompetitive price and
encourage property owners who would like their driveways improved to take
advantage of this opportLmity.
If you have any questions reguarding your �rticular drivcway, please eantact Bill
Forsman, Construction Inspector, City of Fridley, at 571-3450. If you are
interested in having your drivaaay imprwed, return the bottcan of this form to the
City of Fridley Engineering Department. We will help you f igure the cost of
improving your drivc�aay and schedule the work with Northwest Asphalt. If you
decide to have your drivesaay improved you will be requi red to escrow the money
with the City before the work is initiated.
