Dear Mr. Bagstad:
This office has been retained to represent Mr. and 1illrs. Jack Cloud on
the matter arising out of a fire which occurred at the above address on
April 5, 1971. Following the fire, the building inspection department
� determined that the structure was over fifty percent (50%)
demolished and because of the extensive damage should be demolished.
Mr. and Mrs. Cloud agree but unfortunately the insurance company at
this point does not.
Mr. and Mrs. Cloud do not have the funds at this time to demolish the
building. We will make very effort to resolve this matter with the
insurance company but pending the litigation we must ask for an
extension of time. We will be happy to keep you informed.

The Fire Department recently reported a fire on your property
at 6229 Central Avenue N:E. We tried to contact you several times
but failed to find anyone at home at the time of our visits.
An inspection of the damaged structure was made on December 1,
1971, and we found an extremely dangerous situation existed. We
i�ediately posted a"Dangerous Building" notice on this building.
This should be given your immediate attention.
We request you demolish the remains of this structure, fill or
level off the basement excavation and remove all debris from the site.
We also require cesspools no longer in use to be pumped out, collapsed
and filled. If the previous water supply for this building came �rom
a private well no"longer in use, this also should be capped,

In 1997, the City Council adopted an ordinance declaring gravel driveways a public nuisance.
They were declared a public nuisance for a number of reasons, such as: they can cause
erosion, contaminate soil with oil and other vehicles fluids, and deposit soil and gravel in the
City's storm sewers and detention ponds. When gravel driveways were declared a public
nuisance, the City Council gave property owners five years to have their gravel driveways
paved. The five-year deadline is quickly approaching, which means all gravel driveways within
the City of Fridley must be paved with approved concrete or asphalt by December 31, 2002.
If on December 31, 2002, your driveway hasn't been paved a citation will be issued and filed at
the Anoka County Courthouse. A misdemeanor citation is a criminal offense and is punishable
by up to 90 days in jail and/or a$700 fine.

For your convenience, a brochure on the City's loan program has been enclosed. You can use
