Subject: Cheri Lane Circle Pressure
On June 6,2002 at 8:00 A.M. we had a work order to change a meter at 534 Cheri Lane Circle. Because we had
recieved the new pressure gauges and assembled the pieces we needed to do testing, we took the opportunity to do some
measurements while we were at this house.
All measurements were taken on the outside spigots of the houses. The water pressure was 50 psi with a flow of 8
gallons per minute at 534 Cheri Lane Circle with a residual pressure of 3 psi before the house line was water hammered.
After the water hammer, the pressure was still 50 psi but the flow increased to 12 gallons per minute with a residual of 10
psi. This was the homeowner that complained that the irrigation system wouldn't work because of low water pressure. The
irrigation was tumed on after we replaced the meter and did the water hammer and all but one head popped up indicating
to us that the hammering was successful.
Kory and Jason put another gauge on Lonnie Johnson's outside spigot to take concurrent measurements. Mr.
Johnson lives at 536 Cheri Lane Circle. The pressure was 50 psi with a flow of 8 gpm and a residual of 2 psi. Pep water
hammered his line and changed the meter there last year as our records indicate. Kory said that there was no effect on
this house while flowing water at 534. The pressure remained at 50 psi.
