BUILDIN6 PERMIT FEE SCHEDUI,E
Section 2. The Inspector of Buildin�a shall, before iasuiag any permit for
�he e�ectian of any building or etructure, or for any additioa to eny exist-
iag building or structure,,.or for any alterations or repaira.to any exisicing
build�ng or stcructure, upon application th�refor, require the paymen� by the
applicant for such perm�Lt of feea to the amount herein below set forth aad
in �he manner herein provided to-wit:
2.1. For any auch permit for �he erection of any fire-proof building, other
than a�arage�, warehouse, factory or grain elevator, or for the erection of
aay fire-proof addition, for similar occupancy, to any exiating building
ahall be 8t the rate of $1.40 for each one thousand cubic feet, or fraction
thereof, in such cubical conCents.
2.2. For any such permit for �he erec�ion of any fire-proof garage, warehouse,
f�ctary or grain elevator, or for the erectfon of any fire-proof addition,
for similar occupancy, to any existiag buildiag shall be at �he r�te of $1.25
for each one thousand cubic feet, classified as 01fireprooft° by Section 502 of
the A?inneapolie Building Code.
NQUSES
2,3. For anq such permit for the erection of any non-fireproof building other
than a garage, warehouse, factory ar grain elevator, or any non-fireproof
addition, for similar occupancy, to any esisting building - permit $1.00 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
GARAGES
2.4. For any such permit for the erection of aay nan-fireproof garage,
waxehouse, factory or grain elevator, or for the erection of any non-fireproaf
addition, for similar vccupaacy, to any exiating building or for each auch
building or addiCion - nine�y cents ($0�.90) for each one thouaatad cubic feeC
or fraction thereof, in lthe cubical contents thereof c�ith a minimtaa� of $4.00,
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of aay building og addition �o a uniform height throughout by multiplying the
ground area covered from a poiat six (6) iaches beloc� the floor line of the
basemeat or cellar to the average height of Che upper surface or to the
avere.ge height of the roof surface of the maia gable of a pitched roo�.
2.5. For repairs or alterations to an exis�ing structure, the fee siiall be
at the rate of $3.00 per each Fiv� Hundred Dollars ($500,00) or fraction
thereof 3n the cost of a].1 propoaed work.
2.6. In ao case ahall the fee charged for any permit as set forth ia
Section 2 be less than $4.00.

Dear Mr. Kohls:
A mechanical permit was issued on November 13, 2000 for the installation of a gas
furnace for your address. According to Section 305(a) of the 1991 Uniform Mechanical
Code, a final inspection shall be perFormed on the mechanical permit. As of this date no
inspection has been called for.
The permit fee that was paid covers the inspector's time to check to make sure the
furnace was installed correctly. We also need to check for the installation of combustion
air, vent and connector sizing.
You will be given thirty (30) days from receipt of this notice to respond. If we do not
hear from you, your permit will expire and any inspections on this installation will require
a new permit.
