Subject: Silt Fence Planting Protection at Christeason Crossing
Deaz Mr. Larson:
At your request, I inspected the silt fence installed to protect the plantings along the Mississippi Street
boundary of Christenson Crossing. Limitations of right-of-way and existing roadway and sidewalk leave
only about three to four feet of grass boulevazd for wi.nter snow storage.
The sidewalk along Mississippi Street is plowed duri.ng the winter by the City of Fridley. A snow blower
attachment is used if snow depth exceeds what is practical to clear with a regulaz plow. It is City policy
to not use any salt or sand on these sidewalks. However, the roadway of Mi.ssissippi Street is maintained
by Anoka County and salt and sand aze used in their wi.nter maintenance operations. It is possible that salt
and sandplowedup onto the sidewalkby the County couldbe subsequendy plowed up onto this boulevard
area by the Ci�y sidewalk plow.
