Subject: Growing concem over the structural reliability of the Halston Model
Reference: My home at Christenson Crossing Village Homes, 127 Cbristenson Court
Dea.r Mr. Rotter,
As I have related to your company before, we have heen very pleased with our home purchase
and enjoy the design and convenience of our home. We finalized our purchase on 11/30/98 and
moved in 1�/13198.- After a very unfor�una�e "walki�roug�i uispec�ion" w�ic� I broug�� �a ya�--
attention before, the few times I have had a question or concem your company has alwa.ys been
responsive or informarive.
However, I have become increasingly concemed with the number of `�ialston Model" homes in
the project which have had major problems and subsequent da.mage to their roofs, ceilings and
interior. Over the last cou�le of years, I have seen workmen on the roofs of several "Halston
Model" homes, and so I began wonderi.ng what was going on. Then in the last week of October
when I went to the Homeowner Association's Annual Meeting, I was shocked to find that of the
11 Halston Model homes in this Rottlund development, that 9 ha.ve had major damage a.nd
problems with the roofs leaking, wa.ter and ice backing up because of a faulty architectural
design in the roof in the "saddle" area. The damage appears sometimes in the garagelkitchen
wall area, sometimes in the foyer area and occasiona.l in light fixtiues and other places. I also
understa.nd, you have alrea.dy made structural changes and remedies to several homes already

o�cially notified you of my concern, and will hold you and your company responsible for any
problems that currently e�ust, or will e�cist in the future because of a poorly designed product,
architechmaiiy, structurally, �r othervvise in buildi�� o� �is*iome. V�iile I have no� seen a.ny
interior problems so faz, I am also aware from other experiences, that these things show up at the
most inopportune times, kind of like living with a time bomb in your house.
I would appreciate a reply from you in writing, clarifying all the problems with the "Halston
Model" home, and what you are doing to protect the innocent buyers. Wananties are one thing,
structural and architectural errors are certainly another
