This follows our letter of August 30, 1993, regarding the levied special assessment against your
townhouse unit (and garage) in the total amount of $2,249.00. We are deleting roofing work on
your townhouse unit for which $1,100.00 was charged.
Therefore, the amount of the special assessment is hereby reduced to $1,149.00 ($2,249.00 minus
$1,100.00). One half of $1,149.00, or $574.50, will become due and payable on October 15,
1993, and the second half will become due and payable on November 15, 1993.
Building code requirements in Fridiey reqvire that a permit be taken out when roofs are replaced.
Accordingly, Mr. Tom Blazina, the building inspector in Fridley (571-3450) made inspection of
all the roofs of building numbers 1,2,4,5 and 7. It is his contention that a number of the roofs,
including yours, were replaced without a building permit and, moreover, some, including yours,
are in non—compliance with code and/or do not meet required standards. The City of Fridley is

townhouse units within the same building, it is essential that the permit problem be resolved and
the required corrections be made on the roof of your townhouse unit on a timely basis so as not
to delay the issuance of a permit and the scheduled repairs and/or replacement of roofs on the
