At your request, on November 30, 197b, we drilled two soil
borings by means of a truck mounted auger on the above captioned
1ot. The soils encountered were identified by our Technician
at the time of the borings. The water table r�as checked irr�nedi-
ately after withdrawal of the auger. The following is a log of

The foundation soils encountered are adequate for a normal
single family framed dwellin�. �. ring capacity of
the subsoils are n t-.�ete mined in this typ�_._ ��: Therefore,
it is recomme that two -#4 reinforcement be placed in
the footings rotect the structur ossible differential
settlements that may ' un erlyinq clay soils are soft.
We would suggest installing drain tile and sump during con-
struction, in the event a wet basement condition developes in the
future. Although the water table is low, thls has been an extremely
dry year. Also, the pond behind block 1 is expected to reach a
high elevation of 957,5 occasionally which is within 3.0' of the
basement floor, as shown on the development plan. The minimum
house elevation (ground elevation at front of housej is $�3.0 which

Eight field density tests were conducted at the referenced
site on July 29 and August 2, 5, and 12, 1977. The tests
were done using the Density of Soil in Place by the Sand
Cone Method procedure (ASTM D 1556).
One Standard Proctor Density Test (Moisture-Density Relation of
Soils using a 5.5 lb Rammer and 12 inch Drop, ASTM D 698-70), `�`
previously reported in GEC Job No. 1379 and identified as
Proctor No. 1, was used.
Three Modified Proctor Density Tests, number�d 2, 3, and 4
(Moisture-Density Relation of Soils using a 10 lb Rammer and
18 inch Drop ASTM D 1557-70), were also conducted.
Relative density was then computed by dividing the field density
by the Proctor density, expressed as a percentage.

SUMP PUMP DiSCONNECTION
Our investigation reveals your sump pump is illegally connected to the sanitary sewer
system. This must be corrected by July 1, 1995 or a discharge fee of $300 per quarter will
be applied to your water bill until the sump pump discharge is removed from the sanitary
sewer.
There are a number of options available to you for correcting the sump pump discharge.
Yotir decision will depend on the lay of the land, the sump pump location and/or
development of the adjoining pmperties. The simplest solution is to disconnect the discharge
pipe fiom the sewer� �ystem and extend it to ihe egterior of t$� home. It can-then be aliowed
to flow across the side, rear or front yard to an established storm system. Another option
is to install a dry well similar to the diagram below. Discharge directly into the
street is not allowed.
The City will assist you in the sump pump disconnection cost by remitting one-half of the
eligible cost up to a maximum of $4b0. The work may be completed by you or a contractor.
At�x notification of completion of the work, the City will re-inspect Your sumP P�P $Ystem.
Upon approval and receipt of your bill, the City will determine its participation and issue a
check for the G�t�s share. As an option, the City can contract the work and assess the cast
to .you over a three-year period. If this is desired, a petition located on the back, for this
process must be egecuted.
Please contact the Cit�s Public Works Department at 572-3566 for a re-inspection and
approval once the disconnection has been completed.

SUMP PUMP DISCONNECTION
It has been determined that our sump pump is illegally connected to the sanitary sewer
system in violation of City Code, Chapter 403.
As a means of correcting this problem, we petition the City to issue a contract to install a dry
well system for our sump pump discharge in accordance with the concept provided on the
_rev_erse side of this peiition�
We relieve the City of all liability for this work, its operation and maintenance.
We agree to have the cost for this improvement, with appropriate interest and handling
charges, assessed to our property for a three year period commencing with the 1996 taz
statement. We waive our right to a public hearing for this assessment.
The petition is binding on our heirs, successors, assigns and all future owners of this

The Chief Building Official shall, before issuing permits for the erection of any building or
structure, or for any addition to any existing building or structure, or for any alteration or repair
to any existing building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in the manner herein
