New Houses Oniv September 9, 1980 Address File: 6755 East River Road We continually get calls from the mother of the.ow�er_af this property on the condition of the retaining wall at Locke Lake. Took a look at it today, and the wall has moved substantially since the l�s� time I was out here. Continued settlement and erosion of the material°o the concrete wall is noted. It is just a matter of time before the wall collapses and fails. Have suggested to her on two occasions that during the sur�ner months they remove the material from behind the wall to such a depth as to allow the water in the pond (lake) to move the wall inward, then taking the wall and fixing deadmen into the yard, backfill the material necessary to fi11 that area. That would help retain the wall for a period of time. At this point, I'm not sure what will happen other than a failure might occur next spring. You were inquiring about the proposed location of an attached deck at your home, which is located at 6755 East River Road and is on Locke Lake. In order to answer your request, the Minnesota DNR, Shoreland development standards apply. Please see the attached document. When applying the Shoreland development standards, it was determined that the proposed attached deck must not extend more than 10.5 feet into the rear yard setback. The proposed structure must also be constructed primarily of wood and cannot be roofed or screened.
