Dear Sirs:
An inspection was conducted on July 25, 1995 of the above location,
at the request of Mr. Bernal who is residing at 6921 East River
Road. Mr. Bernal reported that the deck at the rear of the
dwelling had collapsed with him on it. Barry Riesch and I
inspected the deck and the following conditions were noted
(pictures were taken):
*R'im joist - pulled away from the structure.�
*Floor joist - deteriorated wood members.
*Three supporting columns have become detached.
*Doubled 1_ x 6 flooring is deteriorated.
It was brought to Mr. Bernal's attention that due to the collapse
of the deck, a guardrail would be required in front of the sliding
glass door.

The City of Fridley Inspection Division requires that you take
immediate action to resolve the failure of the collapsed deck, and
take steps to remove any hazards that exist on this property. I
trust you will comply.

Dear Mr. Sajady:
We have been no�ified by the City Inspection Division that they recently conducted an inspection
at 6921 East River Road, N.E. due to a collapsed deck. During this inspection, it was
determined that this address is rental property. Also, please note that this letter in no way
negates your responsibility to the City of Fridley Inspection Division with reference to their
requiring immediate action to resolve the. deck collapse.
In August, 1994, the City of Fridley Couneil enacted City Code Chapter 220, Residential Rental
Property Maintenance and Licensing Code. Section 220.13.1 of this Code essentially requires
that anyone offering residential property for rent within the City of Fridley must acquire a
Residential Rental Property I:icense.
I have enclosed the application for said license. Please complete it as soon as possible and
return it with a check for the license fee which is $ 25.00. Upon receiving your completed
application and fee, a licensing inspection will be scheduled.
