Re: Repair & Maintenance of the Rental Property Located at 8191 East
River Road N.E., Fridley, Minnesota
Dear Mr. Dailey:
It was confied by a routine on-site inspection on October 24, 1979 that
the above listed rental property was being maintaine3 in.viola.ion of
Chapter 220, Residential Maintenance Code, of the Fridley City Code.
Z'he inspection on the above date found the following list of deficincies
which must be crrected. Any repairs or improvements must be completed
in a workmanship like manner. It is the City's hope that similar or
other deficiencies in apartments that were not inspected will be corrected
as needed.
EXTERIOR
Provide and maintain a screened enclosure toconceal the refuse
container frcen view. In additi.on, a hard surface base should be
provided for easier handling by the hauler. `
FURNACE RQOM
1. Provide and maintain a groundng strap across the water meter. q-r ' C
2. The use of the extension cord, running from this area up the side
of the building and into the attic, must be discont.i.nued. If %
electricity is needed for this area, it must be properly wired.
APARTMENT #5
Provide and maintain an approved escape window for the small
bedroom. Questions should be directed to the Building Inspector
as to size and type of window that would meet the requixements.
A reinspection will be conducted on or about December 17, 1979 to determine
compliance. We are confident in your cooperation on these, matters and if
any questions or problems arise, please contact me at 571-3450.
Failure to abate these violations may result in this matter being turned
over to the City Prosecutor for his legal consideration.
Sincerely,
STEVE J. OLSON, R S.

RE: Property at 8191 East River Road N.E., Fridley, Minnesota
Dear Mr. Dailey:
Fridley City Code 113 states that all solid waste stored outside
must be kept in secured containers and must be collected from the
property on a weekly basis. The primary purpose of these require-
ments is to protect the health and safety of the City's residents.
(I have enclosed a copy of this code section for your review.)
Recently, I received information suggesting that the tenant
occupying the third floor of the above referenced location
continually stores unsecured garbage on the deck. Upon inspection
from ground level, I observed what appeared to be cardboard boxes
and some other materials on the deck. Should any of this material
be solid waste, it is important that it be kept in a secured
container or stored inside the residence prior to collection. I
am sending a copy of this letter to the tenant.
Feel free to call me at 612-572-3595 if you have questions or wish
to discuss this further. Thanks for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Steven Barg
