You also know that I presented the City's desire to loop the Ely Street and East River Road watermains to ensure quality and continuous service. The property owners do not desire a looped system at this time. They indicated that there has never been any water problems caused by deadend waterlines in this area. The property owners at 360 and 361_Ely Street consequently were opposed to granting the City the necessary easements to accommodate the loop. I suggest the Council be informed of this situation and that the City does not pursue any further this looping of the water system. I have provided relating memos and correspondences to the Ely Street file.
