BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCI�DULE
SQetion 2. The Inspector of Buildinga shall, before issui.ng any' Perm3-t
for the erection of any building or atructure, or for any additian to
any sxisting building or structure, or for any alterations or repairs
to any ex3.sting bu3lding or structure, upon application there�or, req,uire
the pa.yment by the applicant For such permit of fees to the amount hera3.n
below set forth and in the manner herein provided to-wit:
2.1. For any such permit for the erection af any f'ix'e-praof building� other
th�.n a garaga, warehouse, factory or grain elevator,-or for the erection of
a;ny �.reproof addition, for simi.lar occupancy, to eny e�cisting building
shall be e.t the rate of $1.40 for each one thousand cubic feet� or fraction
thereof, in suoh cubical contents.
2.2. For an�r such permit for the erec�ion oi any fireproof garage, ware-
hous�, factory or grain elevator; or.for the erection of any f3reproof
addition, for sim3lar occupancy, to any existing building shall be at the
rate of �1.25 for each one thousand cubic feet, classified as "fireproof'�
by Sect3on 502 of the Minneapolis Building Code.

2.�. For any such permit for the erection of any non-fireproof building
other than a garage, warehouse, factory or grain elevator, or any non-
fireproof addition, for sim�lar occupancy, to any existing building.

2�4. For any such per�i.t for the erection of any non-fireproof gaxage,
warehouse, factory or grain elevator, or for the erection of any non-
fireproof addition, for similax occupancy, to any existing building
for each such building or addition. Ninety Cents for each one tho�d
cubic feet or f`raction thereof, in the cubical contents thereof with a
min4mum of �/..00,
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits th� cubicel contents
of any building or addition to a uniform height thraugY�aut by mult3plying
the ground area covered from a point six.(6) inches below the f7.00r line of
the basement or cellar to the average height of the upper surface or to the
�,verage height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
2.5. For repairs or alterations to an existing structura, the fee sha9.]. be
at the rate of �3.00 for each Five Hundred Dolla�� (�500.00)� or fraction
therec�f in the cost of all proposed work.
2.6. In no ca.se shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in
Section 2 be less than �4.00•

I am writing to you per your request for a detailed description of the erosion preservation
that we intend to apply to the properiy situated at 470 Ely Street NE, Fridley, MN 55432,
located along the banks of Spring Brook.
Upon receipt of approval and a permit from the City of Fridley, as well as from the DNR,
spec�cally due #o the intended boulder placement that will likely result in deposits of
said boulders below the water line along our property's banks, we wish to do the
following to preserve the property line along Spring Brook:
�Acquire and apply ourselves, several (estimated 25-35) large boulders (appro�rimately
20° in diameter) to create a baseline deterrent to the water's direct flow of current
against the abrupt, west facing curoe of the brook, as located directly below the site of
our home.
�Continue to apply several (estimated 10-15 yards) smaller boulders/ river-rodc atop the
baseline to protect the bank up to approximately 4 feet in height throughout the length of
the above noted bend in the Brook on said property line.
�Apply additional 10-20° boulders (estimating that we will require approximately 30
more) for the purpose of creating, likely, two Rock Vanes to adequately divert the water's
direct cuRent around the bend, without further affecting the said banks described above.
�1Ne also wish to lay buriap upon the bank, and incorporate plant-stakes using local
vegetation to further substantiate the bank's walls.
�We do not intend to move/ remove any existing dirt/ soils; However, we will likely need
to remove and then reapply some existing rock along the bank's border to apply the
larger boulders to the base of the bank.

provided by members of the Rice Creek Watershed District upon visiting the site.
