Section 2. The Inapector of Bu�1ldings ehall, before issu3ng as�y parmit for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existin� build-
ing or atructure, or for any altera-tions or repairs to s.ny exist3ng buildin� or
structure, upon application therefor, require the pe,�ment bar the applicant for
such permi.t of fee� to the amount herein below set forth and in the �enner herein
provided to-wit:
2.1. For any �uch permit for the erection of any firo--proof bu3lding, other than
a garage� warehouse, factor� or grain e].evatar, or for the erect3on of ang fire-
proof addition, far similar occu.pancy, to any existing buildin� shal.l be at the.
rate o£ �1.40 for eaah one thousand cub3c feet, or fraction thereof, in such
cubiaal contenta.
2.2. Far any such perm3.t %r the erection of a,ng fireproof gar�ge, warehouse,
factory or gra3n elevator, or for the erect3on of sny fireproof addition, for
similar occupancy, to any ex3sting building shall be at the.rate of �7..25 for
each one thoueand cub3:c feet, class3fied as "fireproof'� '�y Seation 502 of tiie

2.3. For e,ny auch permit for the erection of any non:fireproof Uui].ding other
then a garage, warehouse, factor3r or gra3n elevator, or any non-f3reproof
addition, for s3milax occupancy, to any exiating building. Permit �]..00 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
GARAGES
2.4. For an�r such permit for the erection of any nor�fireproof garage, warelaouse,
factory or grain elevator, or for the erection of any non-fireproof sddi�ion, for
s3milar occupanoy, to any ex3sting building or for each such building or addit3on.
Ninetg Cents for each one thousand cubic feet or f`raction thereof, in the cubical
con�ente thereof with a minimum of $1�.00.
For the purpoee of computing fees for building permits the cubical contents of eny
��building or addition to a uniform height throughout by multip�,ying the grnund area
covered from a point s3x (6) inches below the floor line of the basement or cellar
to the average height of the upper surface or to the average heigh� of the roof
surface of the main gable of a piiched roof.
2.5. For repa.irs or alterations t� an existing structure, the fee shail be at the
rs.te of �3.00 for each Five Hundred Dollars (�500.00), or fraction thereof in the
cost of all proposed work.
2.6. In no ca.se shall the fee charged for any permit as aet forth in Section 2 be
leas ths.n �/�.00.

Dear Mr. Butala:
Unfortunately, after further review and consultation with my supervisor, it has been
determined that the City cannot take an aetive role in the snow removal dispute
between you and your neighbor to the west. The only instances in which the City can
become involved in the correction of a snow removal problem or dispute are:
If the snow is affecting vehicular traffic, i.e., the snow is being deposited in the
street.
2. If the snow is creating a vision safety problem for vehicles.
I apologize for the misinformation I may have provided during our meeting last week.
Some options you may consider in resolving the issue area:
1. Attempt to make mutually acceptable arrangements for snow storage/removal.
2. Contact Anoka County Mediation Services at 422-8878. Mediation Services may
be able to help resolve this dispute.
3. As a last resort, carefully record any damages you may incur and initiate legal
action through a civil court.

Dear Mr. Butala:
I am writing to you, since I have been unable to contact you by phone the last several
days. You had stopped by my office on Monday, June 22, 1998, to clarify the City's
regulation on the location of fences along property lines.
You indicated that you have received, on two occasions wrong information that
indicated a setback of 3 feet for a wood fence and a 0 setback for a chainlink fence. I
then showed you the fence code which does not require those setbacks. You have
indicated that it was a female employee that relayed to you the information. If the
phone calls were placed sometime between December 1997 and April 1, 1998, the City
did employee a temporary employee during that time frame, in the Community
Development Department, who could have been responsible for the misinformation.
Because the employee no longer works with the City, there is no way I can prove this;
however, I do apologize for the inconvenience this has caused you and your neighbor.
