Adoption by the City Council of the assessment may occur at the hearing. The area to be assessed for the improvement is legally described as follows: Pin(s) all located in the City of Fridley, County of Anoka, State of Minnesota. The amount PROPOSED to be assessed to your properly is as follows: $ 1023.00. It will be payable over 10 years at 6.5% interest (See page 2 for payment options). T'he proposed assessment roll is on file for public inspection at the City of Fridley Finance Office. Written or oral objections will be considered at the meeting. People who desire to be heard regarding the proposed improvement and assessment shall be heard at this meeting. If you wish to preserve your opportunity for appeal of the assessment, you must present your objections in writing. Minnesota Statutes Sections 435.193 through 435.195 and Council Resolution 14-1995 authorize the City to defer the payment of special assessments against homestead properties owned by persons older than 65 yeazs of age and disabled persons for whom it would be a hardship to make the payments. Under this arrangement interest WILL accrue from the date of adoption. For fiu�ther information about this deferral prograzn, contact the Finance Department at 763-572-3526. 1. Various options aze available for �aying the principal amount of the assessment after the City Council has accepted the roll: A. Payment of the pri.ncipal either IN FULL or AT LEAST HALF will be accepted until November 25, 2009. B. Allow the entire assessment to be certified to the Anoka County Property Records and Taxation Division for collection with real estate taxes in 2010. 2. Interest is charged in the following matter: A. No interest is charged if full paymerat is received within 30 days of adoption of the special assessment roll or by Noverrnber 25, 2009 (if the assessment is adopted on October 26). B. After.30 days: from adoption, interest will be chazged on the remaining balance on a daily basis from the adoption date. 3. If you do not prepay in total prior to November 25, 2009, the rema.ining principal along with interest from the d.ate of the adoption of the resolution through December 31, 2010, will be collected with your 2010 taxes.
