BUILDIhG PERMIT FEE SCHL'DULI:
SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, befo•re issuing permits for the
erection of any building or structure, or fox any addition to any existing '
building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein provided to-wit: .
NEW CONSTRUCTION: S�,ng],e Fami].y Homes and Garages: $4.00/1000 cubic feet
PLAN CHECK: 25 percent of building permit fee.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building ox addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
ox the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or io the average.{
height of the roof surface of the ma.in gable of a pitched roof. �
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged fox any permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $7.50.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
�
NOTE: Permits for cons�ruction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the
ti�ae of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, shok�ing the location of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, will be required before proceeding with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) da.ys prior
to the use or occupancy of any structure �or which a building permit has been
issued; and said structure shall not be used or occup3ed uneil a Certificaee
of Occupancy has Ueen issued.

This letter is to make clear this department's requirements for the
swimming pool construction at the abc�ve address.

As indicated, two (2) skimrtiers approved by the Nationat Sanitation
Foundation will be provided. � �
As i�dicated, three (3) inlets of approved design for fresh and/or
repurified water will be provided.
As indicated, a main drain of approved construction will be p�ovi.ded.
The filter and pump shall be approved by the N.S.F. and be of
sufficient capacity to pt`ovide a minimum turnover of at least two (2)
times in 24 hourse This department recommends: a turnover rate of
6 to 8 hou rs . �
A deck of at least three (3) feet wide, measured from the pool waters
edge, shall be provided which extends•completely around all private
residential pools. Above ground private residential pools may be
provided with decking of a minimum size of 4 feet by 4 feet at pool
entry polnts and provided that such decking has the approval of the
Ci ty.
The diving area wil.l be acceptable provided there is no overhead
obstruction.
Fencing or bther effective means including but not limited to aralls
or buildings, acceptable to the City, shall be provided to positively
control all access to public and private residential swirmning p�ls.
Fencing shall meet the following crite'ria:
(a) The fencing shall prevent the entrance of children and be
without hand or foot holds that would enable a person to climb .
over it.
(b) The fencing shall be at least 6 feet.high and entrances sMall be
equipped with self-closing and self-latching gates capable of
being locked.
(c) Self-closing and self-latching devices shall be placed at the top
of the gate or otherwise inaccessible to small children.
(d) The opening between the bottom of the fence and the ground or
. other surface sha11. be not m�re than four inches. •
An automatic chlorinator should be provided with suitable test kit.
All electrical and plumbing installations shall be inspected and
,� approved by the City Inspection Department.

10. All electrical lines must be greater than 15 feet away fran the pool
surface. An alternative is to bury said lines.
11. The pool fill spout must be protected by a vacuum breaker or air-gapped.
12. Suitable safety equipment to include but not limited to a riRg bouy
and rope that is 1� times the pool diameter, and shepherds c�r�k pole
must be provided and maintained with the pool at all times.
Furthermare, these and any other requirements must meet th� provSsions of
the Fridley City Code, Section 115, Swimming Pools. The building permit is
approved contingent on final inspectio�s and approval by the City.
