Section 2. The Inspector of Bui7.di.ngs ehall, before issuin� an�r permit for the
erectioa of aa�r building or structure, or for any addition to.any ex�:at3�►g build-
ing or structure, or for any alteratians or repairs to any existing bui].d3ng or
structure, upon application therefor, requi�e the payment b� the applic�it for
such permit of fees to the amount here3n below aet forth and in the me�ner herein
prov3ded to-wit:
2.1. For any such permit for the �rection of any f3re-proof building, o�h�r than
a gerage, warehouse, factorg or gra3n elevatflr, or £or the erect3.on of �nt�t fire-
proof addi.tion, for similar occupanc�r, to any exi.sting building shall be aic the
rate o� �1.40 for ea.ch one thousand cubic f�et, or fraction thereof, in such
cubi�a]. contents.
2.2. For any such permit for the erection of an� f3reproof ger�ge, warehouse,
factory or grain elevat.or, or for the erection of any fireproof ac�dition, ?�or
simi].ar occupaney, to any existin� building shell be at the rate of �1.25 ��'
each one thoueand cubic feet, classi�ied as ��fireproof�� by Section 502 of •the
M3nneapolis Build3.n$ Code. �'

For the purpose of computing fees for build3ng perm3.ta the cub3c�.1 contents oi' any
building or addition to a un�form height throughout by multipl�ring the ground area
covered from a po3nt s3x (6) inches below the floor line of �he basement or cellar
to the average height of the.upper surface or to the average height of the r.00f
surface of the ma,in gable of a pitched roof.
2.5. For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate of �3.00 for each Five Hundred DoTlars ($500.00), or fraction thereof in.the
coat of a11 proposed work.
2.6. In no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be

Dear Mr. Nguyen:
A mechanical permit was issued on November 14, 2003 to install a furnace and air
conditioner at your address. According to the 1991 Uniform Mechanical Code a fina.l
inspection shall be conducted on the work authorized by this permit. As of this date the
inspection has not been requested.
The permit fee that was paid covers the inspection to make sure the work was completed
according to the Codes. We will keep your pernut open for another 30 days and if we do
not hear from you within this time to set up the inspection, we will mark the permit "no
inspection called for by homeowner after notification" and the permit will be expired.
To set up the inspection or to have any questions answered, please contact the Building
