BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE I�

SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing permits for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any alteration or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and ia
the manner herein pravided to-wit:
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE: �pe 1, 2� 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical.contents. �pe 3� 5-$1.85 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average �
�height of the roof surface of the mai.n gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee sha11 be at the
zate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In ao case shall the fee charged for aay permit as set forth in Section 2 be
less than $5.00.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, will be required befare proceeding with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupaacy shall be made ten (10) days prior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building permit has been
issued; and said structure shall not be used or occup3ed until a Certificate
of Occupancy has been issued.

This letter is tp make clear this depart�ment's requirements for the swimming
pool construction at the above address.
1. As indicated, one (1) sk�mmer approved by the National Sanitation
Foundation wi11 be provided.
2. As indicated, two (2) inlets of approved design for fresh and/or
repurified wa.ter will be provided.
3. As indicated, a main draa.n of approved construction will be provided.
4. The filter and piunp shall be approved by the N.S.F. and be of
sufficien� capacity to provide a m�nimum turnover of at least two (2)
times in 24 Tiours. This department recominends a turnover rate of 6- 8
hours. �
5. A deck of at lea.st three (3) feet wide, measured from the pool waters
edge, sha11 be provided which extends completely around all private
resideritial pools. Above.ground private residential pools may be
provided with decking of a minim�nn size of 4 feet by 4 feet at pool
• entry poi:nts and provided that such decking has the approval of the Gity.
6. The da.vi.ng. area will be acceptal�le provided there is no overhead
obs'truction. � .
7. Fencing or other effective means includim,� but not limited to walls
or buildings, acceptable to the City, shall be provided to positively
control all access to public and private residential swimming pools.
Fenci.ng shall meet the following criteria:
(a) The fencing shall prevent the entrance of children and be without
hand or foot holds that would enable a person to climb over it.
(b) The fencing shall be at least 6 feet high and entrances shall be

approved by the City Inspection Department.
10. Al1 electrical lines mus� be gr�ater than 15 feet away from the pool
surface. An alternative is to bury said lines.
11. The,pool fill spout must be protected by a vacuum breaker or air-gapped.
12. Suitable safety equipment to include but not li.mi.ted to a ring buoy
and rope that is 1'� times the pool diameter, and shepherds crook pole
must be provided and maintained with the pool at all times.
E'urtheimose, these and any other requirements must aieet the provisions of
the Fridley City Code, Section 115, Swimming Pools. The building permit is
approved contingent on fi,nal inspections arid approval by the City.
