SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildiiigs shall, beiore issuing permits for the erection
of any building or structure, or for any addi�ion to any existing k�uilding or structure,
or for any alteration or repairs�to any existing building or structure, upon application
therefore, require the payment by the applicant for.such permit of fees to the amount
herein below set forth and in the manner herein provided to-wit:
NEW G'aNSTRUCTION: Single Family Homes and Garages: $4.00/1,000 cubic feet.
PLAN CHECK: 25 percent of building permit fee.
DRIVEWAY DEPRESSION: (Concrete Curb Streets Only)
Alternate A: Removal and replacement of concrete curb and
gutter only; Driveway width plus 6 feet x$14.50
Alternate B: Removal and replacement of concrete curb and

gutter and install a 3 foot wide approach with
6 inch dep�h; Driveway width plus 6 feet x$17.20

For the purpase of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents of any
building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area covered from a
point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement or the cellar to the
average heights of the upper surface or to the average height of the roof surface
of the main gable of a pitched roof.
Eor repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the rate
of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fracti�n thereof in the cost
of all proposed work.
In�no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be less
than $7.50 plus $.50 state surcharge.
VERIFICATION OF FO NDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimiun of 24:hours from the time

Dear Mr. Gargaro:
This letter is to make clear this department's requirements for the swimming
pool construction at the above address.
1. As indicated, one (1) skimmer approved by the National Sanitation
Foundation will be provided.
2. As indicated, one (1) inlet of approved design for fresh and/or
repurified water will be provided.
3. 2"he filter and pump shall be approved by the N.S.F. and be of
sufficient capacity to provide a min.imiun turnover of at least two (2)
times in 24 hours. This department recoa�nends a turnover rate of 6- 8
hours.
4. A deck of at least three (3) feet wide, measured from the pool waters
edge, shall be provided which extends completely around all private
residential pools. Above ground private residential pools may be
provided with decking of a minimum size of 4 feet by 4 feet at pool
entxy points and provided that such decking has the approval of the City.
5. Fencing or other effective means including but not limited to walls or
buildings, acceptable to the City, shall be provided to positively
control all access to public and private residential swimming pools.
Fencing shall meet the following criteria:
(a) The fencing shall prevent the entrance of children and be without
hand or foot holds that would enable a person to climb over it.
(b) �he fencing shall be at least 6 feet high and entrances shall be
equipped with self-closing and self-latching gates capable of
being locked.
(c) Self-closing and self-latching devices shall be placed at the top
of the gate or otherwise inaccessible to small children.
_(cl) The opening between the bottom of the fence and the gr�nd or
other surface shall be not more than four inches.
6. An automatic chlorinat�or should be provided with a suitable test kit.
7. All electrical and plumbing installations shall be inspected and
approved by the City Inspection Department. •

8. All overhead electrical lines must be a minimiun of 10 feet horizontally
from the pool surface and 18 feet straight line distance fro� the water's
edge. An alternative is to bury said lines.
9. The pool fill s,pout must be protected by a vacuum breaker or air-gapped.
10. Suitable safety equipment to include but not limited to a ring buoy and
rope that is l� times the pool diameter, and shepherds croak pole must
be provided and maintained with the pool at all times.
Furthermore, these and any other requir�nents must meet the provisions of
the Fridley City Code, Section 115, S�aimming Pools. 7.'he building permit is
approved contingent on final inspections and approval by the City.

The Cluef Building Official shall, before issuing permits for the erection of any building or structure, or for any
addition to any existing building or structure, or for any alteration or repair to any existing building or structure,
upon application therefore, require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein
below set forth and in the manner herein provided to-wit:

Alternate "A": Removal and replacement of curb and gutter only - Driveway width plus 6 feet times $15.50.
Alternate "B": Removal and replacement of curb and gutter and install a 3 foot wide
approach with 6 inch depth - Driveway width plus 6 feet times $23.25.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATI�DN
Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the time of application to allow for proper
review of the proposed structure and of the construction site.
A Certificate of Survey of the lot, showing the loca.tion of the foundation once it has it has b�n �oa�tcucted will
be required before proceeding with the framing.
