COMMENTS FROM COIINCIL MEETING OF AUGIIST 12, 1991
1. They all agreed that we would file our civil case against
Fantasy House as well as proceed to fight to Rutaman Davis
action for Samir Awaijane.
2. The Hagberg vacation was tabled until Virgil Herrick comes
back with an opinion on whether or not the subject alley is
a common law alley.
3. Steve asked whether there is an application fee for trailer
licenses that is processed annually. Rick Pribyl seexas to
think it is an annual fee. Perhaps we ought to check.
4. Steve wants us to take a look at our December meeting
calendar. He thinks that perhaps we should make arrangements
to make sure that the December meetings do not conflict with
the NLC conference.
5. Steve requests duplicate copies of all of the Q& A material
from the budget work sessions.
>
Nancy wants us to put up some signage giving directions to the
little league park.
They all seem to feel that we should amend our animal control
ordinance to allow for three animals.
They all agreed to postpone discussion of the diseased tree
issue.
e They also registered no objection to a-waiver of penalties and
interest on Bob Shore's back taxes.
• ;-
10. They suggested that Ed and Nancy be members of the Senior
Center Committee. They also suggested Karen Schaup, someone
from the ministerial association and someone that Connie had
mentioned to Nancy as a potential member. We also need to
come up with some other members in very short order.
11. Dennis wants me to write a letter back to Ms. Richardson
regarding the contribution to her daughter's trip to the Miss
America Pageant.
12. They all agreed that we would respond to the lady on Riverwood
Drive by telling her that we will give her a final mat in
1992.
13. Nancy is asking whether or not there is any way to improve the
handicapped access to Islands of Peace Park. Apparently, the
people at Lynwood Nursing Home want to be able to move
wheelchairs from the nursing home through some other parking
lots to Islands of Peace, and they can't do it now because of
sand or gravel or whatever that is in the way.
14. They all agreed to hold up on the filling of the Karen
Shanberg position.
15. Steve has asked that I reconsider filling the Police Clerk
Typist II position.
16. We need to write an article for Nancy on the Police
Department's National Night Out.
17. They all agreed that we would not ask for any additional
property tax levy for the 1992 fiscal year.
18. They agreed to our proposal for constructing a parking lot at
the little league park. The parking lot is to be constructed
at a cost not to exceed $55,000 in 1991.
19. We are to remodel the existing concession in 1992 at a cost
not to exceed $30,000.
20. They agreed to the proposed negotiating guidelines that will
govern the buy-out of the Lake Pointe property.
21. They did not have any objection to the Six Cities Watershed
budget.
22. They held off on making a decision on whether or not to honor
John Benedict's petition for reimbursement for storm drainage.
Dennis is to talk to Mr. Benedict and get back to me.
23. They understand that the Miller and Schroeder request for
reissuance on industrial revenue bonds for the Fridley
Business Plaza will be on the August 26 agenda.
