SECTIOP 2. The Inapector of Buildings, shall,.,before issuing any permit for
the erection of any building `or struc�Cn�'e,� o'r for any addition to any existing
building or structure, or for any alterationa csr repairs to any existing
building or etructure, upon.application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant .for ..such permit `of' fees to the .amount herein bel�ow set forth and in
the manner herein provided to-wit;
2.1, For anq such permit for the ere�tion of any fire-proof building,
othei than a garage, warehouae, fa�tory oi giain'elevator, or for the erection
of any fire-proof,.addition, for similar occupancy, to,.�ny exiating building,
aha11 be.st the=r�tr� of $1,G0-fo� each oae thousand cubic feet, or fraction
thereof, in such cubical contents.
2.2 For.any such permit for the:.erection of.any fire-proof.garage,.
war-ehouse,•�actory vr grain elevator, or�for the�er�ction of any fire•proof
addition, for similar occupancy, to any esiating building shall be at :the
rate•af $1.25��or e�ch one thoueand cubic feeC, clasaified as "fireproof"
by $ection.502 of the Minneapolis Buildiag ,Code. _

For the purpose of computing fees for building permits, the cubical contents of any
buildii�g or addition, is deterr.tined by r.tultiplying the ground area covered from a
point six (6) inches below tiie floor line of the base.�r►ent or th� cellar to the
average heights of the upper surface or to the average height of the roof surface
of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For renairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the rate
of $3.00 ��r each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in the cost
of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged for any permit as set forth in Section 2 be less
than $7.50 plus $.50 state surcharge.

NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the time
of a�plication to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and of the

Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (1G) days prior to the
use or occupancy of any sti-ucture for �vhich a buildang permit has been issued; and
said stsucture shall not be u�ed or occupied until a Certificate of Occupancy has
been issued.
