Section 2. The IMSpector of Bu3ldings aha11, before isauing a.r�y permit for t.he
erect3on of any building or structure, or for ar�y add3t3on to ar� existing bu31d-
ing or atructure, or for an�r alterations or repairs to any exiat3ng buflding or
structure, upon applica.tion therefor� require the payment by the appy.icant gor
such permit of fees to the �.mount herein below set forth e,nd in the met�ner herei.n
provided to-wit:
2�1. For any such peimit for the erection of a.ny fire-prcof building, other than
a garage, warehouse, factory or grain elenator, or for the erect3on of aay fire-
proof addition, for similar occuparac�, �o any ezdsting buitding shall be at the
rate of �1.40 for each one thousand cubic feet, or fraction thereof, in such
cubical contents.
2.2. For any such permit for the erection of any firepxoof garage, warehouse,
factory or grain elevator, or fo� the erect3on of ar�r fireproof addition, for
s3.mi7,ar occupancy, to any exi.eting building shall be at the rate of �1.25 for
each one thousand cub3c feet, classified as °fireproof" by Section 502 of ihe
M3.nneapolis Building Code.

2.3. For any such permit for the erection of an� non-fireproof bui].ding other
than a garage, warehouse, factor�► or grain ele�ator, or any nor�-firegrooi
addition, for similar occupa�ncy, to any existing building. Permit $1..00 for
sa.eh one thousand cubic feet.

2a4. For any such permit for the erection of any nor�-fireproof garage, warehouse,
factory or gra.in elevator, or for the erection of any r�or�f3reproof addition, for
aimilar occupancg, to any existing building or for each such build3ng or addition.
Ninety Cents for each one thousand cubic feet or fract3on thereof, in the cubical
confi.enta thereo£ with a minimum of $/�.00.
For the purpo^� of computing fees for building permits the cubic�]. contente of any
buildin� or addition to a unl�orm height throughout by multiplying the ground area
covered from a po3nt aix (6) 3nches below the floor line of the basement or cellar
to the average height of the upper surface or to the average height of the roof
surface of the main gabZe of a pitched roof.
2.5. For repairs or alterations to an exiating structure, the fee s�.l]. be et the
rate of �3.OD for each Fine Hwa.dred Dollare ($500.00), or f"ract3on thereof i.n the
cost of a11 proposed work.
2.6. In no ca.se shall the fee charged for any per�mit as aet forth in Section 2 be
