RE: Property at 990 Hathaway Lane N.E.
Dear Mr. Reed:
On July 1, 1990, the City of Fridley began a new program called
Systematic Code Enforcement. This program is designed to provide
fair and equitable code enforcement, improve the City's appearance,
and maintain property values by creating a more attractive suburban
environment. Under this program, all properties in the City will
be inspected approximately once each year to ensure that they are
in compliance with the Fridley City Code.
A recent inspection of your property revealed that not all Code
requirements are presently being met. Listed below are item(s)
which do not comply with the Code:
1. Observed unsecured solid waste in front of garage in front
yard. Fridley City Code 113 requires that all solid waste
must be kept in secured solid waste containers, and these
containers must be stored in the-side yard, rear yard, or
garage, except on the collection date.
Your prompt attention
our effort to improve
on or about August

Sincerely,
in correcting this problem would help us in
the City. A reinspection will be conducted
23, 1990, at which time compestions or

RE: Property at 990 Hathaway Lane N.E.
Dear Mr. Reed:
It has come to our attention that you are directing excess water
from your property through a hose down to the curb on Hathaway
Lane. The Fridley Zoning Code (section copy enclosed) prohibits any
use which contributes to the run-off on adjacent properties. It
is important that you resolve this situation as soon as possible.
One alternative that might meet your needs, while not creating a
problem on the public right-of-way, is to install a sump pump tank
in your rear yard. This tank will allow the water to percolate
into the soil where it should not return into the ground water
table.
Please call me at 572-3595 or Scott Erickson (Assistant Public
Works Director) at 572-355? if you wish to further discuss this
drainage issue or wish more i!formation on the alternative which
I have described. Thanks for your cooperation.
Sincerely,
Steven Barg
