Dear Mr. Huber:
It was brought to tha City's attention on November 30, 1982, that you
Were operating a home oacupation at your residence.
Although the City does permit certain home aceupations, it should alxays
be remembered that the purpose of a residential area is to provide a
living aetting awaq from the noise, signage, elutter or traffia of a
commereial district. Therefore, please read the following section oP the
Fridley Citq Zoning Code which defines a home oceupation.
Sectioa 205.02 defines a home occupation as, "Any gainful oeeupation or
profession engaged in by the ocaupant of a dwelling at or from the
dWelling Whea carried on within a dwelling unit and not in an accessory
building, e.g. garage, and which ia clearly incidental and secondary to
the residential use of the premises and doea not change the character
thereof, pr��{ded that no sians other than those normallv utilized in a
residential distriet are oresent. no stock in trade is stored outside the
building, over the counter sales are not involved, and entranee to the
home oceupation is gained from withia the structure. Such use inaludes
professional offices, minor repair serviees, photo or art stu�dios,
dressmaking or teaching and similar uses; however, a home oe�upation
shall not be interpreted to inelude tourist homes, restaurants or similar
uaes: Teaching shall be limited to four (�) students at any given time.
No home oecupation shall be permitted that results in the need for more
than two (2) parking spaces at any given time in addition to spaces
required by the occupant (family). Occupations requiring the hiring of
employees other than members of the immediate family shall not qualify as
hame ocaupation:+. "
