3. PRODUCT DESCRIPTION�.
The FLOFEX ITB (Integral Thermai-
Break) represents Ihe most advanced
technology in structures of its type, pro.-
viding wide glass areas, structura!
strength, and size versatlliry not readily
available in modular frame conshuc
tions. The ITB features extreme simplic-
ity of installation and current State-of-
Ihe-Art integral thermal-breaks ihrough-
out most frame componems. doors. and
windows. The ITB provides the ultimate
�hroughout ihe entire spectrum of com-
mercial application and for residential
living space.
All fasteners exposed to the elements
are fumished with premium aluminum
cupped compression fitling/neoprene
washer assemblies to ensure water-
tightness.
Basic Uses: Qualiry residential
room additions and virtually all com-
mercial applications where [he objec-
tive is to bring the outdoors inside
with a structure designed for human
occupancy and energy efficiency.
The ITB is ideal (or restaurants. en-
closed malls, larqe skylight construc-
�ions. lobbys. and toyers: its flexibiliry
permits unparalleled Architectural
creativiry.
Limitations: Available standard
contigurations are shown. Customi-
zation, including variations in span,
height, and geometric configuration
including freestanding adaptation is
available to service the needs of
specific Architectural applications
upon inquiry to EGPC.
Color. Ciear tempered insulated
glass is standard: tinted glazing op-
tional. The standard paint finish of all
FLOREX ITB metal components is
PPG Duracron Bronze. electrostati-
calty applied and baked. Altemative
paint finishes are available upon
inquiry.

Engineers in accordance with gener-
ally accepted building codes and with
the Specifications for Aluminum
Structures of The Aluminum Associa-
tion. Standard glazing panels are
factory assembled and sealed utiliz-
ing tempered glass having minimum
'/e° thick inner and outer lites; all
panels other than those in doors and
windows have an overall thickness of
sie". 1"thick factory assembled and
sealed glass is optional.
Custom glass claddings are avail-
able to suit individual requirements
and/or to ensure compliance with the
diverse building codes throughout
the United States. Single-glazed and
triple-glazed cladding systems are
available. as are insulated glass
panels utilizing tinted, reflective, or
laminated glass. Acrylic, polycar-
bonate, and/or aluminum-faced in-
sulated solid panels are available on
special order_
Standard models are furnished
with Ye" thick blended DF acrylic in a
double-glazed configuration. Factory
formed and sealed insulated acrylic,
polycarbonate, or glass curved sec-
tions are optional.
Series 120 and 144 units are fur-
nished with thermally-broken sliding
doors complete with screen and
glazed with insulated tempered
glass. The standard door frame
height is 6'8!%a".
Operable awning-rype windows,
thermally-broken and glazed with in-
sulated glass panels, compiete with
insect screens, are standard. Multi-
ple-lite windows and storm panels
are optional.
Ventilation: Optional thermostati-
cally controlled exhaust fan kits in-
cluding an external hood for weather
protection are available. Specific in-
formation upon request.
Sun Shading: Exterior sun shades
are available as optional accessories.
4. TECHNICAL DATA:
The standard FLOREX ITB structures
have been designed to withstand load
conditions consisting of:
(1) Minimum live load of 40 PSF, plus
deadload
(2) 25 PSF basic wind load
The flexibiliry af the FLOFiEX ITB ser-
ies is such that the structure can be mod-
ified to permit substantially higher live
loads and/or wind loads in order to meet
eztraordinary climatic conditions.
Glass supporting metal components
have been designed to provide a live
load deflection of 1/175 of the appro-
priate span, or less, in order that neither
glass nor glazing materials be subjected
to excessive strain.
The entire structure is self-support-
ing, the eave curve having a nomina125"
interior radius. thereby permitting more
grecious geometry. Straight eave con-
figurations are also available.
All aluminum extrusions conform to
Alloys6063-T5.6063-T6,or6061-T6.
Glazing Details: All glass has a
minimum ?ia" bearing, and is seated
upon continuous EPDM inner seals
which preventdirecicontactbetween
glass and aluminum. The external
glazing seal is of extruded EPDM
contorming to ASTM D-2000.
The glazing arrangement provides
ample tolerances to accommodate
varying ambient conditions. and is so
designed as to ensure relative ease
of installation and watertightness. An
erziruded aluminum snap-in feature
strip covers all fasterners between
the bar cap and basic profiles for the
curved members; all other frame
members require no external bar cap.

either aluminum 2024-T4 series or
stainless steel 304 series.
Flashing: To be provided by instal-
ler to meet local site conditions.
Castings: Aluminum Alloy No. 773
5. INSTALLATION:
Installation shall be performed in ac-
cordance with detailed assembly in-
siruction manuals provided.
Modification: Cus[om designed
units shall be installed in accordance
with the particular projecYs engineer-
ing drawings.

ailable upon request.

None required other than routine
washing of the glazing.
