For the purpose of computing fPes for building permits, the cubical contents of any
building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area covered from a
point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement or th� cellar to the
average heights of the upper surface or to the �.verage height of the roof surface
of the main gable of a pitched roof. �
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the rate
of $3.00 �ier each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fraction thereof in the cost
of all proposed work.
Tn no case sha].1 the fee charged for any permit as set forth in 5ection 2 be less
than $7.50 plus $.50 state surcharge.
VERIFICATIOiV OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a miniumun of 24 hours from the time

following rather ridiculous incid�nt is oif�red. Customarily
public relations are c�uite satisfactory so w;�Pn confronted with
the r�verse, ttis rather disconcerting,
Sunday mornir�g t'ne �th at 11:05 a city tractor snow-removal
unit was b�in� operated.on 69th ti�1ay (b�tween our home/Bjorklunds}.
At tlze tim� I was walking to the �jorklund home to offer my ser-
vices in clearing his driveway. Carrying a shovel (I use a snow
blow�r in he�vy snow) and crossing ffiy lawn eia a narrow_p�th, I
stopped and cl�ared th� entrance of th� ps�th at the curb, i,e.'
one shov�lful to the right, one to the lef t and tlze third into the
street, About to proceed on to Bjorklunds, the operator of the
snow�-clearing ux�it iwlneel�dt ov�r and slammed to a stop� Looking
up with a smile, expecting a"sorry but sometimes we �et snow into
PathwaYs too!" or some such, I was dumbfounded v�rhen he throttled
down his rig, leaned over and snarled "you know I c�.n call the COP�
on you for shoveling that snow into the s�treet!" Startled I asked
"what did you say?" and he hys�Gericall� repeated his statement.
"For one shovel of snow4" I askc�d.? He s�id� it made no differ�er�ce
whereupon not only resenting his logic but also his refer�nce to
police as 'COPS' instead of officers, I said "why dom�t you call
the Police" whereupon, mumblin� threats he roared off!
Just then a Fridley Police car rounded the corner check3ng
on a parked vehicle, Walking over I told Officer Gary Lenzmeier
about the incident (was joined by G�;o. Bjorklund) and we suggest�d
1ne check on the driver as possibly being incapacitated for any
number of reasons. Officer Lenzmeier said he would; inspected my
�patl� �ntrance� and I am told, questioned the operator who blamed
his ill manners on �bein� tired�4 Is Sund�y work so demanding?
Incidentally on many occasions I remoee snow (particularly
snow from DB.I��1AY EN'�l�ANCES following city ploughing) for th�
following neighbors - GBATIS - and hav� yet to 'blow snow into th�
s tre�t� as I too am a taxpayer, i.e.,

c. If we �re to school ourselves to eearch for home addresses

project as being an invitation to a mish-mash oP trafPic accidents
