Re: Svimming Pool Construation at 6979 �ckory Drive N.E.
Dear Sira:
This letter is to make clear this department's requirements for the
si+imming p�ol construction at the above address.
1. As indieated, one (1) skimmer approved by the National Sanitation
Foundation Will be provided.
2. As indicated, three (3) inlets oP approved design Por fresh and/or
repurified Water vill be provided.
3. As indicated� a main drain of approved ccnstruction vill be
provided.
�. Tbe Pilter and pump ahall be approved bq the N.S.F. aad be oP
sufficient capacity to provide a minimum turnover of at least tWO (2)
tiffies in 24 hours. This department reeommends a turnover rate of 6- 8
bours.
5. A deek oP at least tbree (3) feet vide, measured from the pool
vaters edge, shall be provided Which extends completely around all
private residential pools. Above ground private residential pools may
be provided With decking of a minimum size oP 4 Peet by 4 feet at pool
entry points and provided that euch decking has the approval of the
City.
6. The diving area will be acceptable provided there is no overhead
obstructioa.
7. Fencing or other ePfective means ineluding but not limited to Walls
or buildings� aeceptable to the City, shall be provided to positively
coatrol all access to public and private residential sWimming pools.
Fencing shall meet the folloving criteria:
(a) Tbe Pencing aball prevent tbe eatrance of ehildren and be
xithout hand or foot holda that vould enable a person to elimb over
it.
(b) The fencing ahall be at least 6 feet high and entranoes ahall be
�q�ip��d wit� se1P-closing and aelf-latching gatea capable of being
loeked.
(c) Self-closing and selP-latehing devices shall be placed at the
top of the gate or otherWise inaceessible to amall childrea.
(d) The opening betveea the bottom of tbe fence and the ground or
other surPaee shall be not mere than four inches.

8. An automatie ehlorinator should be proaided with a suitable test kit.
9. �11 electrieal and plumbin� installations shall be inspeeted and
approved by the City Inspection Department.
10. All overhead eleetrieal lines must be a minimum of 10 feet
horizontally Prom the pool surface, and 18 feet straight line distance
from the waters edge. An alternative is to bury said liaes.
11. The pool fill spout must be proteeted by a vacuum breaker or
air-�apped.
12. Suitable safety equipment to include but not limited to a rin� buoy
and rope that is 1-1/2 times the pool diameter and shepherds erook pole
must be pronided and maintained with the pool at all times.
Furthermore, these and any other requirements must meet the pronisions of
the Fridley City Code, Section 115, Swimmin� Pools. The building permit
is approved eontingent on final inspeetions arid approval of the Gity.

BUII.DING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
The Chief Building Official shall, before issuing permits for the erection of any building or structure, or for
any addition to any existing building or structure, or for any alteration or repair to any existing building or
structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the applicant for such permit of fees to the amount
herein below set forth and in the manner herein provided to-wit:

VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
Permits for construction will be issued a minunum of 24 hours from the time of application to allow for proper
review of the proposed structure and of the construction site.
A Certificate of Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation once it has it has been constructed
will be required before proceeding with the framing.
