'This letter is to make clear this de�xirtrne.nt's requirenerits for the swimming pool
o�nstruction at the above address.
1. As indicated, one (1) skiinrier approvec3 b� the National Sanitation Foundation
will be prov ided.
2. As indicated, t�iree (3) inlets of approved desic� for fresh and/or repurif ied
water will be prwided.
3. As indicated, a main drain of apprwed construction will be provided.
4. Zt�e filter and punp shall be approved by the N.S.F. and be of sufficiert
capacity to provide a minir�uan turnover of at least two (2) times in 24 hours.
�his deFarbnent recamQnends a turnover rate of 6- 8 hours.
5. A deck of at least three (3) feet wide, measured f rom the pool waters edge,
shall be provided which extends oomgletely around all private residential pools.
Abave ground private resic3ential pools may be prwided with decking of a minim�un
size c�f 4 feet by 4 feet at pool e.ntry points and prwided that such decking has
the apprwal � the �ity.
6. �e diving area will be acoeptable prwided there is no overhead obstruction.
7. Fencing �r other effective means including but not limited to walis or
buildings, acoeptable to the City, shall be provided to positively control all
acbess to public and private residential swi�nning pools. Fencing shall meet the
follaaing criteria:
(a) The fencing shall pr�ent the entrance o� children and be witt,out hand or
foot holds that would enable a person to climb aver it.
(b) The fencing shall be at least 6 feet hic� and entrances shall be equipped
with self-closing and self-latching gates capable c� being lockea.
(c) Self-closing and self-latching devices shall be placed at the top of the
c�te or otherwise inacoessible to snall c�ildren.
(d) The opening between the bottan of the fence and the ground or other
surface shall be not more than four inches.
