SE�TION 2. The Inspector of Buildiags shall, before iseuing peYmits for the
erection of any building or stxucture, or for any addition to any exieting
buildiag ox structure, or for any alteration or repsirs tQ aaiy exieting

appli,caat €or such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
.- the manner h�xein pxovid'ed to-wit :
UNIFORM BUILDING CODE;._ 1�pe 1, 2� 4-.$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
feet, or fractioa thereof, in such cubical content�. 1j►pe 3� 5-$1.85 for

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the puspoae of computing fees for building pe�its, the aubical contenta
of any building or addition, ie determi.ned by �ltiplying the ground area
covered faom a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
a= the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the average�•
height of the roof euxface of the ueain gable of a pitched roof.

Dear Mr. Fetrow:
On August 13, 2001, the Fridley City Council officially approved your request for a Special Use
Permit, SP #01-07, for a second accessory structure over 240 square feet (garage), legally
described as Lot 6, Block 1, Ostmans Third Addition, generally located at 7061 Hickory Drive.
Approval of this special use permit is contingent upon the following stipulations:
1. Staff shall conduct regular inspections of the site. If, at any time, a trail simulating a driveway
is present, a hard surface driveway as approved by the City will need to be installed within 90
days.
2. Petitioner shall obtain all necessary building peRnits prior to construction.
3. The structure shall not be used for a home occupation or living area.
4. All vehicles shall be stored on a hard surface as approved by the City.
5. Total square footage of all accessory structures must not exceed 1,400 square feet.
6. Garage shall be architecturally compatible with ewsting home and finished with same siding
and color scheme.
You have one year from the date of City Council action to initiate construction. If you cannot
begin construction in time, you must submit a letter requesting an extension at least three
weeks prior to the expiration date.

Dear '. and Nh� Pierce,
Thank you for meeting Jim and I this morning to discuss the realignment of your driveway. As
per our conversation, the driveway opening would be shifted to the west a.s shown in the attached
drawing. Additional concrete will be poured adjacent to the west side of the driveway. The new
concrete section will be the City standard of 6" thick on a 4" aggregate gravel base.
I spoke to.the Contractor and came to an agreement on the price as it is outside the limits of our
project. The Contractor was gracious enough to provide prices which are very close to the unit
bid prices of the large scale project. The installation cost of the concrete driveway triangle is
$400. The restoration cost of the azea adjacent to the driveway is $150.
The following defines the responsibility of payment and to the Contractor.
1. The City will pay for the concrete driveway installation and restoration up to the existing
panels (Area A) just as it does throughout our street projects.
2. You, the property owner, will pay for the installation and restoration of the triangle piece
on the west side of the driveway (Area B).
The following defines the work that the contractor will be perfornung.
1. Installation costs of the 6" concrete driveway include excavation, removals, disposal, and
installation.
2. Restoration costs include excavation, disposal, 4" topsoil, and sodding.
Please be advised that you will also be responsible to water and maintain the sod after it is
placed on the topsoil — do not rely on the Contractor to adequately �vater the sod on your
private property. There is no warranty on this portion.
