I was �ntacted b� Representative Backl�md in regards to a request you made
regarding sic,�age on Hillcrest Drive.
Fbr the past n�mber of years, we have reoeived requests fran the Hillcrest
neighborhood regarding street lights and sic�age because of the curves on
that p3rticular street. The City has repeatedly responded that if the
neighborhood preg3red a petition regaiding signs or lights anci supported
the installation of the requested items, the City would take action to
accomplish the request.
In 198�4, curve sicyis were requested on Hillcrest Drive b� the residents in
the area but oould not agree to placing any signs in their front yards.
7�is iten was again addressed in 1985 with no action taken. In September,
1985, a request was reoeived for a street light on Hillcrest Drive. Action
was taken to install it, the materials delivered and the property awner
refused to have the light installed at the desic�ated location.
While we share your concern with the vehicle traf f ic and curves on
Hillcrest Drive, this street is an isolated residential road which normally
cbes not have much transit traffic. Accordingly, any speeding in this area
can De oontributed to the residents and, therefore, muld be handled b� the
neighborhood. .
If any pa.rticular sicyiage is requested and a petition f rcm the neighborhood
ioentifyirag t�e requireneaat and a specific location is received, we will
review the request through t�e appFOpriate oatunissions, and upon approval
take action to implenent an apprwed gl�aa.

RE Riverwood Development
This is to request that the City require a traffic-slowing bump in the
new Riverwood street at a point close t� the intersection with
71st Way. This intersection is sure to become a ma3or traffic hazard.
Children. especially, will be in danger, and my home will be in the path
of cars out of control.
On June 15 I witnessed a near-collision when the driver of a car speeding
down the new street and the driver of a car speeding down 71st Way failed
to notice each other until the last moment. Two women walking a dog would
have been smashed. and ndy property would have been damaged.
Especially at night, speeding drivers will disregard any stop sign at this
intersection. I dread being in their tra�ectory.

VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours from the time of application to allow for proper
review of the proposed structure and of the construction site.
A Certificate of Survey of the lot, showing the location of the foundation once it has it has been constructed
will be required before proceeding with the framing.
