BUILDING PERMIT FEE SCHEDULE
SECTION 2. The Inspector of Buildings shall, before issuing pezmits for the
erection of any building or structure, or for any addition to any existing
building or structure9 or for any alteration or repairs to any existing
building or structure, upon application therefore, require the payment by the
applicant for such permit of fees to the amount herein below set forth and in
the manner herein pravided to-wit:
UIVIFORM BUILDING CODE: Type 1, 2& 4-$2.15 for each one thousand cubic
feet, or fraction thereof, in such cubical contents. �pe 3� 5-$1.85 for
each one thousand cubic feet.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
For the purpose of computing fees for building perm3ts, the cubical contents
of any building or addition, is determined by multiplying the ground area
covered from a point six (6) inches below the floor line of the basement
or the cellar to the average heights of the upper surface or to the avezage*
height of the roof surface of the main gable of a pitched roof.
For repairs or alterations to an existing structure, the fee shall be at the
rate of $3.00 per each five hundred dollars ($500.00) or fractioa thereof in
the cost of all proposed work.
In no case shall the fee charged for any pezmit as set forth in Sectioa 2 be
lesa than $5.00.
VERIFICATION OF FOUNDATION
NOTE: Permits for construction will be issued a minimum of 24 hours fram the
time of application, to allow for proper review of the proposed structure and
of the construction site.
A Certified Survey of the lot, ahowing the location of the foundation, once it
has been constructed, will be required before proceedinr� with the framing.
CERTIFICATE OF OCCUPANCY
Application for a Certificate of Occupancy shall be made ten (10) days prior
to the use or occupancy of any structure for which a building peYtnit has been
issued; and said structure shall not be uaed or occup�ed until a Certificate
of Occupaacy has been issued. •

In order to provide safe passage for vehicular and pedestrian traffic in the
City of Fridley� periodic inspectior.s of street intersections are conducted.
An ir.spectior, on 2lovecber 13, 198�1 has deter�ined that the sightline for the
ir.tersection on your property is obstructed and could present a hazard to
traffic.
Section 205•154 of the City Code requires that, "On a corner lot in a vision
safety control zor,e� nothir.g shall be erected, placed� planted or allowed to
groW in s�ch a mar.ner as to iapede vision...� the vision safety control zone
is descrited as follows: That area bounded by the street right of r+ay lines
of a corner lot and a straight line joining points on said right of xay lines

A recent inspection revealed that a tree located at the southwest
corner of the above referenced property appears to be creating a
visual obstruction at the intersection of 53rd Avenue and Horizon
Drive. This obstruction extends into what is called the "vision
safety zone" (see enclosed definition) restricting a clear sight
path for motorists at this intersection.
Please take the appropriate aetion to bring this property into

have determined that your side lot on 53'� is shorter than your lot width on Horizon,
which means that even though you face and are addressed to Horizon, you may consider
53`d as your front yard. Since trailers may be placed in the side or rear yard, you will not
need to obtain a variance.

barrier be placed over exterior sheathing to protect the interior wall covering.
